Latest ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ TV spot has a Rey-Han Solo moment

Thank God it’s Thursday, heaved ABC again last night with their usual Thursday line-up. But for some, it wasn’t only the dramatic line-up of the network that made them thank the heavens it was Thursday. The newest “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” was also reason enough to enjoy the day before the official start of the weekend.

A few days ago, Shonda Rimes announced via Twitter that she and some actors from her hit TV show will introduce a brand new “exclusive first look” at the upcoming event film “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Dubbing it as #TGITAwakens, the clip was introduced with a teaser trailer, too.

So Thursday came and the network delivered. It was packed with some fresh footage that finally showed Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Han Solo (Harrison Ford) sharing a moment together. Shown during “How to Get Away with Murder’s” latest episode, the new TV spot (shared by a dangdogblog on YouTube) ran for one minute.

It starts off with that line everyone has heard from a previous trailer, “Who are you?” and a series of quick scenes that leads to another seen-before moment, Rey telling Finn (John Boyega) to follow her. Then there’s something from the deep-voiced Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), whom the clip dubs as a new threat. He says, “Nothing will stand in our way. I’ll show them the Dark Side.”

More quick clips and viewers see the moment Finn and Rey get to know each other’s names. It looked like the clip is hinting at a possible romantic angle. Even BB-8 looked intrigued.

Then even more quick clips. Then it happened: Rey and Han Solo standing side-by-side in the same frame, the first time fans get to see that since the first seen wave of promotions. They are usually seen in a trio with Finn.

And then the last round of quick clips (all awesome and also with a quick peek at Leia’s back) before it goes to the film’s title art.

Watch more of the Star Wars action when “Star Wars The Force Awakens” premieres this December 18.
