NBC’s current long-running Dick Wolf show, “Law & Order:SVU” will be returning on January 6, 2015, and will feature an interesting and complicated case. Aside from that, based on the guest star list, a familiar face will be returning to plague the Manhattan Special Victims Unit once more. WARNING: This article will contain spoilers for the next half of the seventeenth season of “Law & Order: SVU”.
As January 2016 continues to draw nearer and nearer, television networks are finally releasing some information regarding what will be happening in the upcoming episodes of several television shows. Thankfully, NBC has recently been releasing some information regarding the network’s shows that will be returning in January, such as “Law & Order: SVU”.
In the mid-season finale, long-time fans and viewers were treated with the return of former Dr. George Huang (B.D. Wong), who, in a twist of fate, ended up testifying in defense of Lewis Hodda (Tom Sizemore).
Also, fans of Detective Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) were left at the edge of their seats as a very pregnant Rollins, who began to go into labor, realized that something was terribly wrong.
Unfortunately, the recent press release and promotional video for the upcoming episode, “Catfishing Teacher”, which was both released on Spoiler TV, didn’t offer much information regarding Rollins’ fate, but did give a glimpse as to what will be happening next.
However, things take a turn for the worse after the student goes missing, and after the SVU team discovers that they were dealing with not just one, but with two sexual predators on the loose in the school.
As Giddish’s name was listed in the main cast, it is safe to see that we will be seeing Rollins in some capacity. However, it isn’t clear how much time will have passed between the mid-season finale and the January 6, 2016 episode.
Actor Robert Sean Leonard, who previously appeared in three other episodes as Assistant District Attorney Kenneth O’Dwyer, will be back, but it isn’t known yet whether he will be on their side, as he usually isn’t.
