“Pinocchio” star Lee Jong Suk never called himself an “actor” before despite all his successful TV dramas. Read on!
According to KPop Herald, Lee was never too quick to declare himself as an actor but after winning the top award for male actor in Korea Drama Awards last Sept. 2015 for his role in “Pinocchio,” the 26-year-old now acknowledges himself as one.
In an interview with a local media outlet, Lee finally declares himself as an actor after working in the Entertainment industry for so many years by saying that winning the award made him less shy to call himself an actor.
“Winning in this year’s Korea Drama Awards made me less shy to call myself an actor,” Lee said.
It was not the first time for Lee to be part of Korea Drama Awards as he already had won a runner-up prize two years ago for his Mnet drama, “I Can Hear Your Voice.”
Moreover, this year, Lee won for his portrayal as Choi Dal-po/Ki Ha-Myung, the counterpart of Park Shin-Hye’s character, Choi In-Ha.
Lee pointed out that he gave all his best for his character in “Pinocchio” and the drama let him explore his character and “allowed him to go beyond a star and become an actor.”
“Pinocchio was really a superb show. I gave it my best to bring out the character.” Lee said.
Moreover, the korean actor also recalled in his interview his experiences during the filming of his drama as well as his gratefulness for all the fans and viewers of the show.
“There were shortcomings too, but throughout the program I was happy thanks to the viewers who gave generous affection and support,” Lee said.
The site also added that in between of his shoot for “Pinocchio,” he also bagged multiple awards like “The Best Male Actor Award” from Grime Awards last year. Lee became one of the youngest recipients of the said title.
Moving on, due to his latest achievements. Lee Jong Suk is finally confident and hopeful for another nomination in Korea Drama Awards in 2016.
As of now, he is still in the process of considering his next project and according to the actor, it won’t be long for the fans to know the good news about his new assignment.
On the other hand, K-Drama Stars reported that Lee Jong Suk together with IU will be honoured by the prime minister at this year’s Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards.
