The Legend Of The Blue Sea starring Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji-Hyun continues to dominate the rankings with its immense popularity. The series is a favorite of both Korean and international viewers alike. However, recently it has been compared to another Korean drama called Goblin. The cast of Goblin includes Gong Yoo and Lee Dong-Wook among others.
Surprisingly enough fans of both the series feel that one of the shows outruns the other. Which one comes up as more well-liked? Is it The Legend Of The Blue Sea or Goblin?
The Legend of the Blue Sea Defeats Goblin in Ratings
Let’s move back to where all this comparison game began. Since both the shows releases in 2016 and even carry the same fantasy-romance theme, it seemed unquestionable. While The Legend of the Blue Sea airs on SBS and Goblin airs on tvN, the fans somehow feel that the comparison is baseless. A former fan of the show states that SBS is a free network and can connect with more viewers. Meanwhile, tvN comes up as cable network with lesser viewers.
Looking at the rating statistics of The Legend of the Blue Sea and Goblin, the first one manages to grab 20.8 percent viewership nationwide in the January 12 episode. On the other hand, the second show receives 15.55 percent in its January 13 episode.
Undeniably, this enforces that Lee Min Ho’s show The Legend of the Blue Sea defeats Gong Yoo’s Goblin. IBTimes reports that the mermaid love story achieves not just better rating but even has a greater brand reputation rankings as well. A recent update shares that Goblin with its rating on a cable stands strong. If the series would have aired on a free network, it would have undoubtedly managed over 30 percent ratings easily.
Lastly, one of the biggest reasons for this comparison of The Legend of the Blue Sea and Goblin can be related to the star-studded cast. Since the fans of Goblin have been unable to accept fully that the show lags behind The Legend Of The Blue Sea, people take up the issue on social media. Viewers continue bringing in several reasons for each of the show.
