Where We Left Off: Cable and Streaming Shows – SUNDAYS

It’s already September, which also marks the start of the Fall TV season as well. Movie News Guide (MNG) has started to refresh your minds before the upcoming premieres of your favorite  TV shows in various broadcast networks. This time, we’re going to put the spotlight on the returning TV shows on cable and streaming sites. Read on to learn more about the upcoming TV schedule for your Sunday nights.

NOTE: The cable and streaming shows included in this post are from various cable channels outside the major broadcasting network such as ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS and The CW.

“Boardwalk Empire”

Returning: Sept. 7, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. on HBO

It all started with Chalky’s plan on getting rid of Narcisse. Nucky did not want to be part of it so Chalky got a gun on his head for him to agree. Nucky asked Richard to do it in exchange of recovering Jimmy’s dead body. Later, Nucky told Narcisse that Chalky wanted to meet him at the Onyx. Richard continued with the job despite that Maybelle was in the way of his peripheral. Narcisse’s daughter was killed while a wounded Richard died under a pier before Narcise was arrested. Nucky sent Eli away after beating Tolliver in a heated bout.


Returning: Oct. 5, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. on Showtime

Brody successfully killed Akbari and met up with Carrie, who told him about the pregnancy. Little did they know, someone from Saul’s group tattled to Senator Lockhart about Akbari’s death. Lockhart used his connections to head the CIA again. Brody was then captured by the Iranian military so he could be hanged for his crimes while Carrie helplessly watched.

Few months after Brody’s trial, Carrie was given the highest position in the CIA. She was also recognized as the youngest officer, but Lockhart assured her that none was given to Brody. Later, Carrie has agreed to let her father adopt her unborn baby. She was also seen drawing a star on the memorial wall dedicated to Brody.

“Inspector Lewis”

Returning: Oct. 5, 2o14 on PBS

Lewis took his trusty sidekick Hathaway to investigate the case of a murdered chemistry professor named Richard Seager.  Seager was arrested for running over a teenage girl while he was drunk. He died immediately within the same day he was released from prison. As Lewis went on with the case, four new bodies have emerged including the body of a foreign exchange student, who was also Seagar’s lover. The case continued as the surprising death of his wife happened and led Lewis to the murderer.

“The Walking Dead”

Returning: Oct. 12, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. on AMC.

Rick and the other survivors faced several obstacles as they get nearer and nearer to Terminus. Joe came to avenge his friend’s death by killing everyone and harassing Carl. Daryl came right on time, but it was Rick’s rage over the rape of his child saved them. For a while, Rick embraced his savagery to save his son and the lives of his friends. Later on, they went on a trek to Terminus. They were welcomed by sketchy people, who were later revealed had captured Rick’s missing members.
