“The Legend of Korra” concluded in 2012, but the Nickelodeon TV series has captured the hearts of many fans and viewers that a spin-off movie was initially proposed. While various reports claimed that a spin-off movie is highly unlikely to happen following the breakup of the show’s creators, Bryan Konietzko and Mike DiMartino, it looks like fans may get their hopes up once again. Is “Legend of Korra” spinoff movie finally happening? Read on to learn more about this scoop.

“The Legend of Korra” spin-off movie is probably every fan’s dream come true, especially after the finale seemingly hinted of a relationship between Asami and Korra. While previous reports cited that Paramount Pictures and even Netflix will air the upcoming movie, our hopes and dreams were crushed when the show’s creators, Bryan Konietzko and Mike DiMartino, announced their breakup.

“We’re all tired and burnt out. We need to move on and take that next step,” the creators told Hypable.

While it seems like all hope is lost to see “The Legend of Korra” again, it looks like there might actually be a chance for the spin-off movie to take place after all. As previously reported on Movie News Guide, M. Night Shyamalan confirmed that “Avatar: The Last Airbender 2” was in the works despite being heavily criticized for the first film.

While Shyamalan was heavily criticized, the highly acclaimed director defended his stand and said, “It’s really weird because on the show the average age was, like, nine years old. So you could make it one of two ways: You could make it for that same audience, which is what I did.”

Now that “The Last Airbender” will be getting a sequel despite being trashed by fans and critics, will the “Legend of Korra” follow suit and pursue a spin-off movie or maybe a live-action film? Movie Pilot cited several possible actors and actresses, who could play a role if the movie really becomes a reality.

The outlet noted that “Avengers: Age of Ultron” director, Joss Whedon, could best helm the live-action movie. “Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials” actor Dylan O’Brien is also being poised to play Bolin and Zendaya Coleman as Korra.
