The CW’s Arrow was the window that let several other superheroes from comic book universe make a transition to television. First came Oliver Queen or Green Arrow. Then, Barry Allen became The Flash. Sara Lance and Ray Palmer teamed up with Dr. Stein, Leonard Snart and Mick Rory to form Legends of Tomorrow. But will a new series come out soon?
Show creator Marc Guggenheim reveals which character should get a spin-off next on The CW.
Legends of Tomorrow Fiery New Hero
Apparently, one hero from Legends of Tomorrow has already expressed a desire to get his own series. In an interview with Nerdist, Guggenheim revealed that he has spoken to Dominic Purcell, who plays the role of Mick Rory, about the possibility of giving Heatwave his share of the spotlight.
Rory first appeared as the other half of the villain duo, Captain Cold and Heat Wave. He first appeared on The Flash before changing his ways. Then, he became a hero in his own right as a member of Legends of Tomorrow.
However, the death of his former partner-in-crime led him to leave the Waverider and go find himself. It will be an interesting story that can potentially make good television.
“One of the things that we’re really trying for in Legends season two is there’s something really fun about seeing Rory have to develop his own identity apart from his partner,” Guggenheim explained.
A Bad Beginning
Moreover, Mick Rory or Heat Wave has a rich story in comic books. After becoming a supervillain, he went on to become a good guy. At some point, he took up a firefighting consultant job and was friends with Barry Allen/The Flash.
But this was short-lived. He later was seduced back into the dark side by a character called Abra Kadabra. According to Wiki, the character was coerced into sacrificing himself (and four others) to unleash a powerful demon on Earth.
Legends of Tomorrow Airs every Thursday at 8/7c on The CW.
