Legends” Season 1 Episode 4 “Betrayal” aired on Wednesday, Sept. 3. 2014, at 9:00 p.m. on TNT. Martin Odum was still working undercover as his legend Dante Auerbach, the arms dealer, and together with the DCO, they were still looking for the VX gas. Read on to know more about what happened in this episode.

Martin Odum (Sean Bean), undercover as Dante Auerbach, was talking business with the Colonel, Yuri Medved (Alon Aboutboul), regarding his purchase of the VX gas. Since Auerbach has completed part of the bargain, he now called the shots and wanted this deal done over quickly.

Back at the FBI, in the Deep Cover Operations (DCO) office, Hubbarb (David Munier) was being debriefed by Gates (Steve Harris) after being rescued with his family from the Colonel’s men. Hubbarb said that he made at least five liters of the deadly gas. As far as Hubbarb knew, the Colonel won’t care about casualties. He will use this when backed into a corner.

Ana Paulanos (Necar Zadegan) and Yuri saw on the news that Hubbarb was rescued, which worried Ana because now, the DCO has something they know about Yuri. He, on the other hand, was cool about it. The two talked about Auerbach, with Yuri confirming that the deal will be pushing forward the next day.

Ana arrived at the hotel where Auerbach was staying, and they had sex again. Later, they talked about what was to happen to the deal tomorrow, and Ana advised Auerbach that he should leave as soon as the deal is done, or he will be in danger.  They also talked about her childhood, of how she grew up in an orphanage until Yuri adopted her when she was 10 years old. Martin (as Auerbach) asked if Yuri has ever taken advantage of her, and Ana said that she never felt that with him.

And so the deal was on. It was swift. With the transaction done, Martin had the briefcase with the VX gas in his hand. The DCO also did the wire transfer to Yuri’s account, which was actually just smoking mirrors. Then the DCO went into action, ready to arrest Yuri and Ana, and even Auerbach (as part of the ruse), but a shootout happened and the perpetrators were able to flee.

Auerbach was running away from the DCO with, Ana and they hopped into a car. There, he confessed that he’s actually an agent and that Ana was under arrest. Yuri, meanwhile, was caught by Crystal (Ali Larter) after a chase. She brought him to the DCO headquarters.

The DCO found out that the contents of the suitcase Martin supposedly received from Yuri contained just hairspray. The Russian had planned on double-crossing him. But Odum said that the VX gas existed; he saw it.  Where could this be?

Under DCO custody, Yuri would not reveal where the gas was locked away. He also threatened that there will be an attack, unless he’s freed. True enough, the DCO later learned that 16 passengers inside a bus died due to a chemical attack. Yuri was serious, and thus, they needed to make a decision.

Crystal suggested that they use Martin to get to Yuri, since he doesn’t know that he’s an agent. Martin, on the other hand, would like Ana to help him set the plan in motion. But how can they make Ana turn against Yuri? The DCO used the information they knew of Yuri to convince Ana to help them. See, Yuri did adopt her when she was 10 years old, but she wasn’t an orphan. The Colonel raped and killed her mother. Will this help Ana turn?

The transfer of the prisoners was set in motion, but the DCO convoy was under attack in a valley in California. There were military Humvees and men with guns. Many of the FBI agents, including Crystal, were shot. But this was, of course, planned by the DCO. Everything was an act.

Meanwhile, Yuri thought it was his men breaking him out, but it was, in fact, Auerbach who sent for the cavalry. Auerbach was pissed that Yuri double-crossed him with the hairspray, so now he wanted the real deal, and he also demanded Yuri to call off the attack.

When Yuri placed a call to his men, the DCO made the trace, and they were able to retrieve some of the gas. But it wasn’t everything. Somewhere, Yuri still have some of the remaining gas stashed away. So they used Ana.

She confronted him about her mother, which made Yuri really guilty. What can he do to make it up? Ana said to give whatever Auerbach wanted, for starters.

Yuri led them to the bank where the gas was safely locked inside a safety vault. But while there, something went wrong, and Yuri was almost able to escape. But outside, the DCO has surrounded the premises. At this point, he knew that Auerbach was an FBI.  Just then, Ana shot Yuri on the neck, killing him instantly. But when Ana attempted to pull the trigger some more, Crystal shot her, and she died too.

Meanwhile, Agent Rice (Morris Chestnut) from the transport security division of the FBI has gathered more leads into the death of Robert McCombs — the mysterious man who warned Odum of his real identity in the pilot episode. Rice was able to track a homeless man, who was a friend of McCombs. He told him that he was there on the night McCombs was stabbed by a woman on the subway.

Homeless: “She killed him just like he said might happen.”

Rice has now established that Odum wasn’t responsible for McCombs’ death. But why was he in touch with him and who was the woman?

And that’s what happened on “Legends” Season 1 Episode 4 “Betrayal,” which aired on Wednesday, Sept. 3. 2014, at 9:00 p.m. on TNT. Keep checking back to Movie News Guide (MNG) for more updates about this series.
