Legends” Season 1 Episode 5 “Rogue” aired on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at 9:00 p.m. on TNT. Martin Odom followed up on McCombs’ tip about his real identity, and things started to get a little complicated for Rice’s investigation. Read on to know what happened in the recap below.

The episode opened with Martin Odom (Sean Bean) talking to the Deep Cover Operations (DCO) psychiatrist. This seemed to be the standard operating procedure after he got back to using his legends for his undercover activities. But something about what the psychiatrist said provoked Martin that he became hostile and left the session. Crystal Maguire (Ali Larter), who’s the head of Martin’s team, asked the psychiatrist if it would be okay for him to get back on a new case again, but the psychiatrist recommended no active duty for him yet. It looked like he was dealing with something else.

That something else was, of course, the other story line that was laid out in the pilot (aired: Aug. 13, 2014), where Martin discovered that he’s not really Martin Odom. Now, all he has to do is to find more proof to this. Since he’s not back on duty for now, that’s what he sought to achieve.

Later that night, his ex-wife Sonya (Amber Valletta) visited Martin at his home. They had dinner, and they seemed to be getting along well. Martin asked her questions about what happened when he got into an accident several years ago. She said that he was in a coma for three weeks. It happened in February 2004, does he not remember?

When Sonya left his place, Martin searched for the book that McCombs gave him before he died. He found that its pages were dog-eared, so he took note of the page numbers. He then asked Maggie (Tina Marjorino) from the DCO to help him figure this out. They secretly met, and she told him that the numbers were of a private voice mail owned by a certain Dennis Evans. Maggie provided Martin the address, and Martin told him that this was their little secret. She had to make sure to cover her tracks, or she could wind up dead.

Dennis Evans knew who Martin was. He confirmed to him that Martin Odom was not his real name, and he had a photo of them all together back in Iraq in February 2004. This surprised Martin because he can’t remember ever being in Iraq. He was supposed to be in a coma during that time, as his wife told him.

Evans said that all of them can’t remember because something was done to them while in Iraq, and now whoever it was that did this to them wants all of them dead to cover up for the big conspiracy. Evans grew more paranoid when Martin told him that McCombs already died. He told Martin that perhaps a guy named Kyle Dobson would be able to help him some more because he’s going to pack up, leave town and lay low for a while or he could be dead too.

Martin once again sought the help of Maggie to find Kyle Dobson. Maggie traced his whereabouts in Houston, but he kept such low profile, given that he’s wanted by the Interpol, that it may be impossible for Martin to get to him. But Martin had an idea. He was gonna assume his Texan legend Len Barlow.  At Houston, he came in contact with one of Dobson’s girlfriends with the help of his CI.

The girlfriend brought him to Dobson’s hideout where his companions and him were obviously doing something illegal. When Dobson saw Martin (as Len Barlow), he said he knew him from Iraq. But the situation got tense, and a gunfight ensued as Martin forcibly took Dobson to come with him.

Meanwhile, Agent Rice (Morris Chestnut), who was following up on McCombs and Martin’s involvement, got Crystal involved in his investigation. They were able to find more leads that brought them to Dennis Evans’ place, which Martin visited several hours prior. But when they got there, Evans was already dead. Whoever it was Evans was afraid of had already gotten to him.

Next, Rice and Crystal went to Martin’s apartment in the hopes of drawing out what he’s really embroiled in. But when they got there, Martin was gone, and Crystal realized that he had gone rogue.

Lastly, Sonya was in on this the whole time. She’s part of the ruse for Martin. She’s not really his wife, as it was seen that when she talked to Martin, someone was with her ordering her to do it.

The conspiracy just got deeper on “Legends” Season 1 Episode 5 “Rogue,” which aired on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at 9:00 p.m. on TNT. Follow Movie News Guide (MNG) for more updates, recaps and other details about this show.
