As January 2016 looms nearer and nearer, the anticipation and excitement for CW’s DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” gets bigger and bigger. However, it seems as if Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) is just as surprised at his newly assembled team as the audience is, judging by the tone in his voice as he addresses Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) in one of the newest trailers for the show. WARNING: This article will contain spoilers for “Legends of Tomorrow.”
In anticipation for the upcoming premiere of “Legends of Tomorrow,” both Entertainment Weekly and ComicBook have shared the two newest trailers, which give viewers a little bit more to go on than the previous trailers.
The first trailer released this week shows Rip Hunter’s (Arthur Darvill) surprise at his newly assembled team, and in particular, with the White Canary or Sara Lance (Caity Lotz).
In the clip, she and Hunter walked into a retro looking office, where she, much to Hunter’s annoyance, tosses one knife after the other into their enemy.
Hunter then expressed his annoyance at the fact that she brought weapons along with her and then began to wonder in surprise as to how many knives she actually had on herself at the moment.
Jefferson “Jax” Jackson (Franz Drameh) is also shown wearing a retro blouse with a polka dotted collar and is shown saying that he is ready for some action.
However, in a previous scene, both he and his partner, Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber), while being briefed by Hunter about becoming legends one day, express their discomfort at being called a legend. This is because most legends are only called legends when they are already dead.
Another scene showed Kendra Saunders or Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee) warning them about a grotesque looking new foe, whom Captain Cold or Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller) has dubbed “Bobba Fett.”
The second trailer, which was shared on ComicBook gives viewers more of a glimpse into Hunter’s world, and his motivations for recruiting the eight.
The trailer immediately shows him in front of several of his fellow Time Masters. There, he asks for a chance to “change history,” in order to stop Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) from ending time itself.
The Time Masters reply that they have no army to fight Savage with, but Hunter continued on insisting that he be allowed to assemble his own team to fight him.
The trailer then shows each of the main characters, before Hunter is shown in his Time Sphere, ready to travel back in time to recruit the eight.
