The “Taken” film franchise might not be ending soon as Liam Neeson appears to be giving hopes that there is a possibility of “Taken 4” happening anytime soon should the numbers prove that the franchise can run for one more installment. Read on to find out more about this scoop.
This January, “Taken 3” premiered, and a lot of critics were not so happy about that fact, stating that there shouldn’t even be a franchise to begin with and that the first film’s credits are the final one.
However, 20th Century Fox took it upon themselves to cook up two more installments to further feature Bryan Mill’s (Liam Neeson) skill set. As the third (and so – called final) film garners about $40. 4 million in the weekend box office charts and ranking second highest grossing film for January, speculations have started to suggest the creation of another “Taken” movie. When the lead actor was asked about the possibility of him reprising the role for the fourth time, he’s stating that there could be a reality behind it.
According to Cinema Blend, the lethal actor is not shooting down the possibility of him coming back to create a fourth installment. It was during his interview session with FoxNews.com that he might entertain the production of another “Taken” film should it be found plausible by many audiences.
“There’s always… I think if audiences go and see it and they like these characters, I mean, I’d love to do something with Forest [Whitaker] again, and if it’s in a Taken 4 scenario… great,” Neeson said in the Cinema Blend article.
Backing up Neeson’s claims that another “Taken” movie would be possible, there are more angles that the creators could divulge on to expand the story of Bryan Mills. They could cook up a film that tells the story of ill past, and with a background like him, an interesting story should not be that far off.
Moreover, the feature writer of Screen Rant, Sandy Schaefer, highlighted that “Taken 3” lacked the appropriate properties that concluded the franchise in the most profuse way possible. So, maybe a fourth one wouldn’t be so bad given that they provide a more appealing plot for it.
