Catching an incurable virus can’t stop the inimitable Lindsay Lohan from partying. The actress is sick with the Chikunguya virus but continues to frolic in French Polynesia. Read for further details.

Lindsay Lohan contracted the mosquito-borne virus, Chikunguya, over the weekend, but it hasn’t stopped her partying ways. She’s currently on holiday at a white sand beach resort in the French Polynesian islands, having a great time with friends.

The 28-year-old actress, who’s on break from her theater run as Karen in the London West End production of "Speed-the-Plow," posted a photo of herself and her pals on Twitter with the aquamarine sea and over-the-water cabanas in a sandy background

It seems any symptoms she has of the virus (fever, headaches, swelling, rashes, and muscle and joint pains) aren’t a deterrent to having a good time. In fact, another of her Twitter pictures show her cruising around on a jet ski.

"In good faith with good people. I refuse to let a virus ruin my peaceful vacation. Be safe and happy on the new year," LiLo further added. "And a positive, healthy new year."

She ended her post with an emoji of praying hands. Looks like Lohan has become more happy spiritual ever since moving to London away from the hard-partying substance-abusing influence of Hollywood. She even looks serenely contented in a white spaghetti straps top and large sunglasses with her freckles out for all to see.

The Chikunguya virus is an infection from the bite of a carrier mosquito. There is currently no cure for the virus, which causes rash formation, muscle pains, blinding headaches, nausea and vomiting, eye inflammation and fatigue that may last from between five to seven days. Contracting the virus may also cause long-term symptoms, such as painful joints that last for months, sometimes even years.

It looks like LiLo remains supremely confident that her immune system will get her body up and running again, especially on a gorgeous tropical island.
