There is a new Pokemon in Kalos and he might just be the crux of “Mega Evolution IV.” Just who is the green worm-like blob and what does his presence mean for our intrepid trainer Alain? Read on to find out more.

Audiences were left mystified by the post-credits scene in “Pokemon the Movie: Hoopa and the Clash of Ages.”The green being was being experimented by scientists until he explodes (or did he  just mega-evolve?). Pokemon Company International, via Nintendo Insider has confirmed that he is going to play a key role in the final episode of “Mega Evolution.”

So who is it? Smart money right now is on Zygarde, the third Pokemon of Legendary Yggdrasil Trio (with Xerneas and Yveltal). According to the Pokedex entry, it appears whenever the ecosystem in Kalos falls into disarray.  Zygarde is also being hinted as the main character in the upcoming Pokemon film, in his mega-evolved glory

Fans are speculating that the green blob is a tiny version of Zygarde, but nothing is sure as of yet. In an image released on Coro Coro Magazine (via iDigital Times),  there are many of them, with the same hexagonal pattern as the legendary serpent. Speculation now ranges from “scales shed by the legendary” to “tiny zygarde=zygotes”, but we will have to wait for the movie to find out. Or at least for the September issue of the magazine which promises more dirt on the mysterious Pokemon.

The snake-like legendary Pokemon has the unique ability of ‘Land’s Wrath.’ It was said that with the ability, the Pokemon can gather the energy of the land and uses it to destroy opposing Pokemon. He is also able to counter the effects of the other two of the XYZ trio mentioned above.
