Looks like, “Looking For Alaska” is under speculation once again. The main lead for the film adaptation, Alaska is nowhere to be found. There had been chances of casting “Transformers: Age of Extinction” star Nicola Peltz, but she is facing serious competition from “Mad Max: Fury Road” star Courtney Eaton and model Imogen Waterhouse.
The frontrunner for the role of Alaska Young had been Anya Taylor-Joy and Autry Haydon-Wilson but director and producer of “Looking For Alaska” could not agree on the same choices.
The Wrap noted that star of “Red Band Society” Charlie Rowe and “Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse” movie’s Logan Miller were definite choices for Miles Halter and Chip Martin (Colonel). Since, Alaska’s character is still to be cast, clouds have hovered around Rowe and Miller’s availability for next year too.
Paramount Pictures have pushed the production for “Looking For Alaska” movie to 2016 and till then the production house will be keep looking for Alaska Young.
IMDb trivia page has left some major clues for fans of John Green and the upcoming movie adaptation fans. The sex scene of Alaska Young may or may not be included in the film adaptation due to film rating reasons. It writes, “The sexual scene between an over 18 male and Alaska wasn’t even talked about being in the movie during production.”
