The premiere of “Star Wars: Episode VII- The Force Awakens” is only a few weeks away, and every “Star Wars” fan in the known galaxy is looking forward to it. Riding on to this, director JJ Abrams and the cast and crew of the movie have been actively promoting a new campaign for charity called “Star Wars: Force for Change.” However, recently, director JJ Abrams has done it again and made fans of the franchise intrigued as to the whereabouts of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), thanks to a comment he made in one of the “Star Wars: Force for Change” promotional videos. Read on to learn more about this story.
Recently, many have been wondering as to where the iconic character of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) is, especially as the character has not been seen yet in any of the many teaser trailers and posters that have already been dropped in anticipation for the premiere of “Star Wars: Episode VII- The Force Awakens,” which is just weeks away.
However, his absence has not just been felt in the official teaser and promotional material for the movie, but also in the franchise’s most recent charity campaign, entitled “Star Wars: Force for Change.”
“Star Wars: Force for Change,” according to the video which was released on Entertainment Weekly and Collider, is a campaign in which fans donate to various charities supported by the cast and crew of the film. In exchange, two winners will get a chance to bring three guests along with them to attend the red carpet premiere of the movie, and will also get a chance to meet the cast of the film.
According to the video on Entertainment Weekly, director JJ Abrams and the rest of the cast and crew listed down the charities that they were each supporting.
However, it was noticed that two very important actors were missing from that line-up- Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker and Harrison Ford’s Han Solo.
According to Collider, Ford recently released a video in which he surprised past donors with a Skype conversation and where he told them that they had a chance to go to the red carpet premiere of the film.
As Abrams, in a post-credits part of the campaign video wondered out loud where Hamill was, followed by text that read “to be continued next week,” fans are now beginning to speculate that Hamill might appear, for the first time since “The Force Awakens” teasers were being dropped, in a video resembling Ford’s.
