It seems M. Night Shyamalan has learned quite a lot from the mistakes of “The Last Airbender” that he decided to go for its sequel. Read for more details.
The Indian-American writer-director has recently revealed that he is planning to make a second part of 2010 released movie “The Last Airbender.” It was based on Nickelodeon’s animated series’ first season named “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” The animated movie was distributed by Paramount Pictures and due to bad acting, confusing plot, and overall production it was fallen drastically on the box office.
It was the first movie for which the director has received negative remarks mainly because of difference in the story as compared with the animated cartoon series. But only because of one movie, we cannot deny the talent of Shyamalan who is famous for giving numerous blockbuster movies like “Unbreakable”, “The Sixth Sense”, “The Happening”, “Signs” and many more.
Though, the director has decided the rough storyline for the second part of “The Last Airbender” during the first movie’s shoot but he did not confirm about the same. The director was not sure about making the second part when asked in an interview with New York Magazine.
“In the next few months we’ll be able to know whether we have that opportunity or not.”After few months he was caught saying, “I don’t, because there are so many factors they take into account”, “I guess it will get into an area where it becomes a discussion—like pros and cons.”
Currently, the director is waiting for the release of his upcoming horror comedy, “The Visit” which will be distributed by Universal Pictures. The movie starring Kathryn Hahn, Peter McRobbie, Ed Oxenbould, and Benjamin Kanes will hit theaters on Sept. 11, 2015.
No doubt, the scheduled for the shooting of “The Last Airbender 2” is not yet decided but it is said that it will be darker and Azula played by Summer Bishil will be the center character of the sequel.
