“Mad Men” Season 7 Episode 2 “Time Zones”Episode Recap:
“Mad Men” Season 7 Episode 2 “A Day’s Work” (air date: April 20, 2014) had shown several manifestations of love during the celebration of the Valentine’s Day of 1969.
In the beginning of “Mad Men” Season 7, Don Draper (Jon Hamm) is still “on leave”, but it seemed that things are going great for him. His previous Accutron pitch via Freddie Rumsen (Joel Murray) had been praised by Peggy Olson (Elizabeth Moss). Don had rekindled his relationship with Megan (Jessica Paré). Before that, a fellow flight passenger named Lee (Neve Campbell) flirted with him, whom he maturely refused. Not only that, Don had been patching his relationship with his eldest daughter, Sally (Kiernan Shipka).
Meanwhile, things are quite the opposite for Peggy. She was assigned as Don’s temporary replacement, but her co-workers are not making it easy for her. Her love life is still boring after Ted (Kevin Rahm) moved to L.A. Adding fuel to the fire, she had embarrassed herself during Valentine’s Day. In “A Day’s Work”, she mistakenly thought that Ted gave her flowers for the occasion. She was given an unintended rejection when Shirley admitted that her husband gave it to her.
The last episode also tackled one of the most sensitive topics during the era of the 1960’s, which was the issue of race. Dawn Chambers and Shirley are some of the new faces at the Sterling Cooper & Partners film. Both of them had stood out due to their acknowledgement of their self-worth despite the awkwardness between them and their white co-workers.

According to the official synopsis posted on the AMC Web site, Don (Jon Hamm) will take an “impromptu trip during his “vacation.” Could it be at the Los Angeles branch or somewhere else? Will he meet another “Lee?”
Based on the promotional photos released, Zap2it reported that Dawn and Roger continued some leg work at the office. Dawn Chambers (Teyonah Parris) is the new head of personnel after Joan Harris (Christina Hendricks) was given a much higher position while Roger (John Slattery) is in deep thought while smoking in the office.
It was also reported that two other major characters will resurface after being absent from the previous episodes.
Betty Francis (January Jones) is Jon’s ex-wife and mother of Sally and their other two children. She is now married to Henry Francis after getting divorced from John. Harold “Harry” Crane (Rich Sommer) was a former media buyer at SC&P. In Mad Men Season 6, he had a rift with Joan after the latter fired his secretary for falsifying time cards. In “Mad Men” Season 7 Episode 3 “Field Trip,” Betty will meet with a friend during a lunch meeting while Harry will try to influence others for a cause. Is it about the questionable asset?
Meanwhile, E! Online reported that the succeeding episodes will be really interesting. Another new character will arrive at Madison Avenue. It was said that the character is named Richard Burghoff, “a confident, self-made man who is equal parts handsome and warm.” There is no still definite episode where we can meet him, but E! Online said that Burghoff will cozy up to a major character.
