“Mad Men” Season 7 Episode 3 “Field Trip” Episode Recap:
“Mad Men” Season 7 Episode 3 “Field Trip” (air date: April 27, 2014) focused on the former Mr. and Mrs. Draper as they took their separate trips in their pursuit of patching things with their lives.
Don Draper (Jon Hamm) has finally set his eyes in returning to Sterling Cooper & Partners (SC&P) while Betty Francis joined their middle child’s field trip at school.
Don heard an update from the casting agent connected to Megan. In “Mad Men” Season 7 Episode 1 “Time Zones” (air date: April 13, 2014), Allan Silver helped Megan to get a callback for a role in a pilot episode at NBC.
Unfortunately, she did not only failed to get the role but also she manifested an anxious attitude towards the casting directors. He immediately took a trip to Los Angeles to talk to Megan (Jessica Paré). Then, Megan found out about his surprise visit and argued with him. Don was left with no choice but to admit that he was given a forced vacation from the firm.
Despite having a heated row with his wife, Don was serious in winning Megan and his job as a creative director at SC&P. He met with Dave Wooster about getting a pitch from Wells Rich Greene Agency. Don immediately informed Roger Sterling (John Slattery) about it and agreed on a meeting about his old job.
Don arrived at the office, but his comeback had mixed reactions from the heads of the firm. Several of his senior colleagues even called everyone for a haste meeting about his comeback. Due to the long and expensive process of getting rid of him, they had offered his old job back, but with several complications.
Betty felt different about her current housewife status when her friend bragged about her new-found freedom by having a job. Francine Hanson (Anne Dudek) bragged about her job as a travel agent, which she considered as a perk of taking care of her kids.
Betty was also Bobby’s chaperone for a one-day field trip for the school. At first, it seemed that things are going great between the mother-and-son until she went hysterical over the lost sandwich.
Elsewhere, Harry Crane (Rich Sommer) had other things in mind. He tried to lobby a cause of getting computers at the firm. He also answered several allegations from major newspapers about the firm’s lack of computers.

According to the official synopsis posted on the AMC Web site, the firm of Sterling Cooper & Partners would be quite busy as they make preparations for the arrival of a guest. Is the person from their past? Or someone new?
On the other hand, Don (Jon Hamm) will make a call to an “old friend” while Roger (John Slattery) will have to face problems at home. Is it about his recent “hippie” lifestyle or something that may have angered Joan “Christina Hendricks?”
Peggy Olson (Elisabeth Moss) might temporary hold a higher position at the firm, but things are still not going her way. She previously had an on-going battle with Lou Avery (Allan Havey), who has been refusing her pitches.
Now, another colleague will belittle her abilities. Pete (Vincent Kartheiser), her former lover and father of her child, joins Lou as one of Peggy’s haters.
