Juggling a political and family life is quite hard to balance, as the McCord’s of CBS’ “Madam Secretary” know very well, but somehow Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni) manages to pull both of albeit with several setbacks. However, it seems, according to several reports which have been teasing new characters, and hints as to what Elizabeth might face next, that their challenges in the first season were just the beginning for the McCord family. According to one report on TV Line, “Crossing Jordan’s” Jill Hennessy will be joining the cast as Jane Fellows. She will be closely working with Elizabeth’s husband, Dr. Henry McCord (Tim Daly), as his handler in the Defense Intelligence Agency. According to her character description, Fellows will be a recurring character for the season, and will be clashing from time to time with Henry.
Another lady who will be seen in the second season, according to another report on TV Line, is the First Lady herself, Lydia Dalton. An actress hasn’t been cast yet for this intriguing new character. However, according to the report, the First Lady will be seen in the first few episodes of the second season, as she will be hosting a dinner party at the White House.
Spoiler TV also recently released several interesting spoilers regarding Elizabeth in the political arena, and regarding Stephanie “Stevie” McCord’s (Wallis Currie-Wood) relationship with the First Son, Harrison Dalton (Jason Ralph).
Spoiler TV teased that Stevie and Harrison will be hooking up with each other. Elizabeth will be sworn in as President of the United States after Air Force One, along with President Conrad Dalton (Keith Carradine) goes missing.
