Madonna Disses Kanye West: ‘I Don’t Always Like His Music’

Madonna threw some serious shade down Kanye West’s way in her latest interview with Rolling Stone. The “Rebel Heart” singer referred to West as being “too serious” and told him to “just go and have fun.”

Speaking to Rolling Stone, the Queen of Pop dropped some solid advice on Kim Kardashian’s husband. She told him not to get too caught up in the awards show and just enjoy the moment. Madonna said she didn’t understand why it was so important for West to defend whomever he thought should win the award. She added that West often take things “too seriously.”

In case you missed it, Madonna is talking about the two incidents where West stormed out to the stage to say that Beyonce deserved the award more than the winners. First was his infamous outburst in 2009 MTV Video Awards where he interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech, claiming that Beyonce should have won the Best Female Video award. Most recently, he nearly pulled the same trick on Beck’s “Album of the Year” speech at the Grammy Awards.

In spite of it all, Madonna described West as a “brilliant man.” She gushed about the singer who produced several songs in his upcoming album, “Illuminati.”  West might have a few flaws, like caring too much and being too outspoken, but Madonna believed that the industry needed someone like him who is not afraid to speak his mind. She added that musicians nowadays were too afraid of being criticized that they become “so safe” and “politically correct.”

“I don’t always agree with the things he says or does. I don’t always like his music, even. But he’s a beautiful mess. I love him,” she said.
