It is definitely no secret that the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) and one of their iconic characters, Batman, is on the rise, more now than ever, especially with the DC Extended Universe just beginning its first phase of movies, while the MARVE Cinematic Universe is entering into its third phase of films. It is also no secret that the character of Batman is also on the rise, in comic books, and especially in film, with Ben Affleck’s upcoming portrayal of the Caped Crusader in the upcoming “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice”. However, fans may yet see more of this character, although it isn’t sure in which medium or format he will be appearing in again, as it has just been learned that DC will be having some good news to share about Gotham’s superhero. Read on to learn more about this story.
The DC Extended Universe is primed and ready to release its first slew of films while the MARVEL Cinematic Universe is getting ready for its third phase.
Next year, fans of DC will be treated to not one but two films, namely “Suicide Squad” and “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.” However, what was unprecedented was the fact that Ben Affleck’s Batman would be received well by the producers, and so far, by viewers and fans who have watched the trailer of the upcoming film.
In terms of comic books, Batman and the Bat-family, including the Gotham Central Police, and iconic characters such as Harley Quinn, still hold a number of titles in the DC comic book line-up.
With this, and with a third and final installment, according to Comic Book Resources, of Frank Miller’s “Dark Knight” trilogy on the way, it is plain to see that the Caped Crusader has finally returned.
Fans of the character and of DC will then be excited for the upcoming New York Comic Con. According to Cinema Blend and according to DC’s blog, a very important announcement will be announced on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. during a panel entitled “DC Comics-Batman: The Bat-Universe.” It will feature current Batman scribes Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, Amy Chu from “Poison Ivy: Cycle of Life and Death,| “We Are Robin” scribe, Khary Randolph, “Grayson’s” Tom King and Tim Seeley, “Batman: Arkham Knight’s” Peter Tomasi and “Batman Eternal’s” James Tynion IV.
It is not clear what exactly will be announced during the panel. However, Cinema Blend speculates that the announcement might be about either another Batman film for the DC Extended Universe or another Batman animated project.
One thing is sure, though, whether it be in film, television, comics or animated versions, one can count on the fact that Bruce Wayne will always be there, now more than ever, due to the sudden resurgence of his character.
