“Major Crimes” Season 3 Episode 3 “Frozen Assets” aired on June 23, 2014. It was directed by Paul McCrane and written by Adam Belanoff. Captain Sharon Raydor (McDonnell) of the Major Crimes Division (MCD) began with the investigation of another cold case.

The gang was with Rusty (Graham Patrick Martin) when they got a call from kooky Detective Dick Tracy (Andrew Daily) about another case. It was about the murder of a millionaire dog heir named Falcon and the dog’s owner, Marcella. Dick told them that he was working as a security guard at a posh place by an unknown group of trustees. He said that he gave him the crab cakes that Marcella ate before she died. The dog got sick and eventually died of arsenic poisoning. Dick was technically arrested for killing the dog.

Captain Sharon Raydor (Mary McDonnell) headed the investigations of the rich woman’s death. Marcella is a rich heiress who battled leukemia with an arsenic-based chemotherapy before she died. It was said that they probed about Marcella’s two family members, who was only given $1,000 as inheritance. But, she left her loyal canine with the grand mansion and a total of 20 million dollars! She also left money as funds for the LAPD. The rest of Marcella’s inheritance money was given to the Eternal Meadows, a place where they freezes the heads of the deceased for future use.

Their investigations led them to Marcella’s neighbor, Mr. Kliner. Rusty remembered that the neighbor was there when the dog died. Mr. Kliner was caught by Dick while he was trying to hide the remaining crab cakes laced with arsenic. Mr. Kliner was the one who previously called the realtors to sell the “ugly house.”

The episode ended with the arrest of Mr. Kliner while Dick got a new job as a security guard at the department store using Provenza’s letter of recommendation, which was intended for Rusty first.

SPOILER ALERT: “Major Crimes” Season 3 Episode 4 “Letting It Go” was directed by Steve Robin and written by Jim Leonard and Damani Johnson.

According to TV Guide, Rusty (Graham Patrick Martin) will learn more about his biological mother, Sharon (Ever Carradine). Unfortunately, he will also start to question her motives in meeting him. He previously got a hold of her in Season 3 Premiere “Flight Risk.” He also asked for some money from Detective Provenza (G.W. Bailey) to buy her own toothbrush while she was in rehab. In “Personal Day,” Provenza agreed, but he had to let Captain Raydor know about it.

Meanwhile, the MCD will take on the case of another cold murder. An alleged rapist was mysteriously killed. What could be the reason behind it? It is about the alleged rape case against him. Who could have done it?
