“Major Crimes” Season 3 Episode 7 “Two Options” Recap:
In “Two Options,” Captain Sharon Raydor (Mary McDonnell) of the Major Crimes Division (MCD) took the case of a murdered old couple. Their investigations led them to the idea that the children might be kidnapped. Later on, the MCD found a man’s body inside their mother’s car, so they sought the help of Agent Fritz Howard (Jon Tenney) and the Special Operations Bureau.
They successfully got a clue from the children’s pet cat. They learned that the couple changed their surnames after their son was imprisoned for embezzling the family company. The entire Lanier family lived peacefully while the mother had another fiance. They did not know that their father had a deal with a cellmate to kill the fiance.
They found out the father’s whereabouts, but the man would not surrender easily. Gloria had Sanchez (Raymond Cruz) to take over the heated negotiations with his squad. He was told not to interfere using his gun. In the end, Sanchez got shot by the father’s accomplice. The good thing was that the squad used artificial bullets.
Howard was lauded for his courageous work during the operation. LAPD Assistant Chief Taylor (Robert Gossett) asked him to work with them. On the other hand, Rusty (Graham Patrick Martin) was told to take care of the missing persons file. He also learned that Raydor was willing to adopt him as her own son.
“Major Crimes” Season 3 Episode 8 “Cutting Loose” Recap:
In “Cutting Loose,” the MCD investigated the case of a dead woman’s body inside a storage unit owned by TV actor John Worth. They got the information from an anonymous letter. John was working with Lt. Mike Tao, who was working on two jobs for money. The victim’s name was Zelda, his stalker.
At first, John was thought of as the main suspect. They find out that it was his assistant Kiki, who managed his belongings inside his storage unit. She was fired because of hurting Zelda, but she was hired again. John told the authorities that she was now in Mexico. He tapped her to replace him in the appointment because of the special investigation. In the end, Kiki was removed from the suspect list.
On the other hand, they probed further on the letter’s sender. The man who sent it was Zelda’s husband. The man confessed that he and Zelda had a lot of debts to pay. He thought that selling her expensive car was the answer. When he learned that he could not sell it, he killed his wife to become the new car owner.
