Intel Security is worried about people who search for Britney Spears on the Search Engines. And they are also trying to warn people that searching for Betty White will get them into some serious trouble. Read on to know more details.
What do Betty White and Britney Spears have in common? Apart from the fact that they are both good singers, Betty White and Britney Spears are both on the list of Intel Securities “Most dangerous celebrities to search for” list. Anybody who searches for the names of these celebrities is more likely to get results loaded with virus filled links and malicious websites.
The search engines are not usually capable of filtering search results based on malicious content or virus charged downloads, and so the users of the internet are constantly at risk. An unsuspecting user might be led to unwittingly download viruses and malware when he is innocently searching for news on some celebrity like Britney Spears or Betty White.
According to Intel Securities, who released a list of names that are most likely to yield bad search results, also warned that cyber criminals are always on the lookout for more ways of exploiting users of the internet. Everybody has probably heard of credit card frauds over the internet, but some cyber criminals can even peep into your computer, steal your data, and load a virus into your computer that will destroy the software and the boot drive of your system.
While very few movie stars made it into the list, there were a notable few who draw most attention from cyber criminals. Brad Pitt, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jay Z are all on the list. While the fans may feel disappointed that they have to be careful while searching for these names on the internet, they can guard their computers from cyber attacks using cheap antivirus software. Most antivirus software comes with warranty that ensures that the viruses stay out of your system.
US magazine reported the news first.
