Disney studio is now gearing up for “Maleficent” 2 as its lead star Angelina Jolie is being negotiated to reprise her role in the sequel despite existing contract.
The blockbuster movie of 2014 will soon hit the big screen again as the studio has contacted “Alice in Wonderland” writer Linda Woolverton to pen the script for “Maleficent 2.”
However, there is still no confirmation from Disney if “Maleficent” lead character Angelina Jolie as she has no existing contract for any sequel but she is keeping in the loop as the details of the movie progress, a report from Deadline said.
It can be noted that the 40-year-old wife of Brad Pitt has not appeared in sequels of her previous movies like “Salt” and “Wanted.”
“Maleficent” 2 will once again be film produced by Joe Roth but it is still not confirmed if its director Robert Stromberg will come back to the fairy tale-based story. Robert Stromberg landed his first directing debut for the movie after leading the Oscar-winning production.
The 2014 movie has also clinched a worldwide hit of $760 million which is a far gain from its $180 million cost of production.
Despite none confirmation from Angelina Jolie, the actress gushed about her famous fairy tale role.
“I can’t imagine. I’m not dead, at the end of it. She’s still there. I don’t know. I loved playing her,” Angelina Jolie said.
As per the sequel negotiations, Brad Pitt’s wife also clarified that she still have not received any offer from Disney, Mirror.com said.
“Nobody has asked me about that. I don’t know,” Angelina Jolie told.
Currently, Angelina Jolie is prepping up for the promotion of her new film “By The Sea” which also stars her husband Brad Pitt.
This is their first movie together as a married couple after marrying last year.
