“Maleficent” Film Synopsis:
The film is centered on the life of “Maleficent” and the events that led her to cursing Princess Aurora, who eventually becomes “Sleeping Beauty.”
If most of you have not seen or heard about the fairytale “Sleeping Beauty,” here is a quick summary of the film to help you understand who “Maleficent” is.
King Stephen and his queen have been blessed with a beautiful daughter named Princess Aurora. Many people from different kingdoms have traveled to see the newborn princess. The Three Good Fairies attended the said event. They are Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather. Flora gifted Princess Aurora with beauty, while Fauna blessed her with the gift of song. However, when Merryweather was about to give her gift, a gushing wind entered the palace. Lo and behold! “Maleficent” has arrived. The witch was furious because she was not invited to the said gathering. Therefore, she cursed Princess Aurora. When the girl reaches 16 years old, she will die when she pricks her finger in the spindle of the spinning wheel. Fauna and Flora convinced Merryweather to use her gift to reverse “Maleficent’s” spell. Merryweather did. Through her gift, the princess will not die but will only be put into a deep sleep. She will remain in that state until her true love kisses her lips.
