Man Seeking Woman” Season 1 Episode 6 “Gavel” aired on Wednesday Feb. 18, 2015 at 10:30 p.m. on FXX. When Josh officially gets a girlfriend, he ruins everything when he mistakenly cheats on her. Find out what happened in this episode in the recap below.

Josh (Jay Baruchel) is dating Kayla. He finally comes around to introducing her as his girlfriend to everyone. They make it official by kissing, but something happens to Kayla after that kiss. She suddenly becomes stoic, blank and paralyzed. Is she having stroke? Just then, lights flicker around him and three weird women appear out of nowhere. They declare they are sex aliens from the planet Sex. Their mission? What else? To have sex with Josh.

He tells the aliens to stop whatever they’re planning. He’s not the kind of guy who cheats. The aliens, who are blind by the way, tell him that they cannot resist his smell. Especially now that he’s oozing with so much confidence as a guy in a committed relationship. Nothing sets off that powerful smell even better. They tempt Josh with a joint and a sexy movie, but he still says no, so they leave him. He kisses Kayla again and she’s suddenly fine.

The next day, Josh tells Mike (Eric Andre) what happened. His friend warns him that he may find himself married sooner than planned. Josh assures Mike he knows what he’s doing.

Josh meets up with Kayla at her place of work. He gives her chocolates and they kiss. He leaves Kayla’s shop really happy, when two men abduct him. He wakes up in a bus for prison inmates and Mike is calling the shots. He’s in a cop uniform. The “prisoners” are given a glimpse of their life in the suburbs with kids, a car to wash, garbage to throw out and a garden to mow. Mike welcomes them to “hell.”

But Josh is actually pleased with everything he sees. A man, who was 11-years married, speaks to the prisoners about his life sentence with his wife. The man warns Josh it could happen to him, too. While the rest of the guys/prisoners call their girlfriends to break up with them. Josh did the opposite, and even confirmed his date with Kayla.

Next, Josh is at his house preparing for the big dinner date when his ex-girlfriend drops in and she’s crying. He lets her in and calls Kayla to cancel their plans. But he doesn’t tell her the real reason and feign getting sick. Meanwhile, Maggie (Maya Erskin) is on his couch, drinking wine and talking about her failed relationship when she realizes he’s got food in the oven.

A cop knocks on his door and Josh opens it. The cop tells him to come inside the courtroom. It sees that he’s accused of “boyfriend misconduct.” How does he plead? He defends that it’s not wrong for a boyfriend to postpone the date. But the judge points out that he’s being called to court because he lied to Kayla. However, they cannot prove it so the judge lets him off.

So, back at his apartment, Maggie and Josh are eating on the couch when she casually rubs her hands in his. The judge once again calls him back in court to defend himself. But are friends not allowed to touch each other? Can’t grown-ups share a bottle of wine? The fact remains, he’s not doing anything wrong. The court cannot prove this too, so the judge lets him off again.

Maggie says she should probably head home, but Josh invites him to watch TV first. He hears the judge’s gavel again and he’s back in court do defend his actions. Can’t friends watch shows together? The judge points out that Maggie was about to leave when he asked. Josh reasons that it’s still not a date and he has not done anything wrong. The judge, for the third time, rules in favor of Josh.

Josh and Maggie are so cozy on the couch watching TV when she starts kissing him on his neck. He kisses her back and the gavel sounds off, but Josh doesn’t to court.

The next morning, he wakes up with Maggie in his bed and Kayla calls him on his cellphone. He breaks up with her just like that. While Maggie is still sleeping, he prepares a lovely breakfast for her. When she steps out of his room, she tells Josh that they made a mistake. She couldn’t remember much of what happened last night because of the wine. So she leaves just as Kayla bumps into her at the hall. Busted!

Once again, Josh ends up being along and single.
