Man Seeking Woman” Season 1 Episode 7 “Stain” aired on Wednesday Feb. 25, 2015 at 10:30 p.m. on FXX. Josh attends a destination wedding in hell, which aptly describes his feeling at the moment. Find out what happened in the recap below.

Josh (Jay Baruchel) is holed up in his apartment for days. He’s refusing to go out and has been spending time playing video games. His sister Liz (Britt Lower) comes over to invite him out. He needs this. They’re going to go dancing. What Josh didn’t know is that it’s actually a couple’s competitive ice skate dancing.

As he is without any partner, Josh skate dances with his sister and her fiancé. The announcers discuss how this looks really weird, with Josh being the third wheel. He’s really super awkward on the rink, too. He should’ve stayed home and played with himself.

Back in his apartment, his friend Mike (Eric Andre) goes through the mail. Then, he finds the wedding invitation for their friend. Josh doesn’t want to go. All their successful friends are going to be there. He thinks he was just going to feel like such a loser, a single man with a temp job. Plus, his ex-girlfriend Maggie (Maya Erskine) is also going to be there. Mike convinces him to go, so Josh finally relents. Where and when is this wedding again? July 25. In hell. It really does say hell in the invitation. It’s a destination wedding!

The guys shop for suits and stuff for this trip. They enter a weapons shop to look for swords, as it’s been suggested on the couple’s wedding website. The store owner assists them with picking out Mike’s sword while Josh decides not to buy anything.

Next, they travel a long way to hell for the wedding, with the Josh complaining most of the time. When they get to the hotel, they are greeted by a ghoul. The man gaves them tokens from the couple. Josh gives him away. Mike could not help but tell him that he’s being a crybaby this whole trip. Josh realizes Mike is right and promises to stop being negative. But then, guess who walks in but Maggie. And she’s with Gram, her handsome new guy.

They guys are at the reception after the wedding and Josh spot Maggie smooching with Gram. He’s thinking, how can she be over him again? They slept together like five weeks ago and now she’s with this guy? Mike asks him to ignore everything. But how can he do that when they’re at the same table together? Awkward!

While Mike and Gram are hitting off and getting along, Josh is really not having the best of time. Gram asks him what he does for work and he embarrassingly talks about being a temp. Gram offers him a job. Suddenly, a demon crashes the party and attacks Josh. He couldn’t fight him off because he’s too poor to get his own sword, remember? Gram tries to save him and uses his sword to kill the demon. The guests cheer and Josh feels like a total loser all over again.

As the guests are dancing, the demon, who’s supposed to be dead, starts talking to Josh. Their conversation was about how brutal it is to have the guy his ex-girlfriend is now with offer him a job. He’s rubbing insult to injury. Josh walks away.

Back at their table, Maggie and Gram are being lovey-dovey when the bride and groom greet them. They finally meet Maggie’s new guy. How long have they been together? Six weeks. Josh figures out the timeline and realizes that she cheated on him! Or did she? Maggie corrects him and says that the last time they were together was more than two months ago.

Mike tries to pry the wine off Josh’s hands. He’s had too much to drink. He then fights Mike off and accidentally spills the wine on the bride’s wedding dress. Oh, boy! Josh has definitely ruined the wedding. Even the demon is laughing at him, so he gets up and leaves.

He finds a quiet spot where he meets this woman tied up in chains. Josh rants to her about his life being so bad with everyone married and getting promoted in their careers. What did he do wrong? He went to college and he played by the rules. Now, he’s a disaster.

But then, he realizes he has to go back to apologize to the couple.

When he gets there, though, it seems everyone’s still on party mode. Mike tells him that it’s a wedding, it’s supposed to be fun and no one cares about what Josh did. With that, Josh finally loosens up and joins the conga line on the dance floor.
