Man Seeking Woman” Season 1 Episode 2 “Traib” aired on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, at 10:30 p.m. on FXX. Josh takes the next step with Laura. The episode dealt with exorcism and the Center of Important Emergencies. Confused about this? Read on for the recap below.

Following his first meeting with Laura (Vanessa Bayer) on the train, Josh (Jay Baruchel) is high on the possibility of a new relationship. This is him moving on from his ex. But his apartment is still littered with items from Maggie (Maya Erskine). Her stuff are literally taking a life of their own at his place, so Mike (Eric Andre) brings in a priest to exorcise Josh. They all think he’s still haunted by his ex-girlfriend.

The priest douses holy water on Maggie’s stuff, and as it slowly burns, Josh notices a heart-shaped stuff pillow inside the cabinet. He tells the priest he would like to keep this, despite the priest’s insistence that this too will have to be burned. But the heart-shaped thing suddenly turns into a monster, reminiscent of Chucky the evil doll. The priest burns this one as well and then tells Josh to take the final step of the exorcism: getting laid.

So, Josh musters up the courage to ask Laura on a date, but he couldn’t figure out the right words to text her. Mike’s advice is to show Laura a dick pic, which Josh didn’t like, so he seeks a second opinion from his sister Liz (Britt Lower). Liz’s suggestion is to send a nice and polite text message, which Mike sneers at. So now, Josh is confused, what’s the best text message to send to ask a woman on a date?

Enter the council from the Center of Important Emergencies, which is composed of generals, scientists and experts. One of them even included Col. Tigh from “Battlestar Gallactica!” These experts dissect and debate over the best message to send, which complicated the matter even more. Until finally, Josh decides to send a really simple message but types: “Hi, Laura. It’s Josh from the traib” by mistake. The council panics and stresses over the mistake. Josh corrects this immediately before hitting send.

Minutes pass, and Laura doesn’t answer. Col. Tigh becomes hysterically drunk and passes out, while everyone is tense. The situation is being aired live on television. The world awaits for what’s going to happen next.

And then Laura replies, much to everyone’s relief. The date is on and everyone cheered!

Before heading to meet Laura, Josh prepares his room for a possible intimate time with his date later. But the actual date turns out rather badly. They had nothing good to talk about and the food didn’t satisfy them at all.

Laura decides to go home separately and Josh returns to his house dejected. The classical band playing the music live in Josh’s room is also disappointed.

Josh isn’t going to have sex tonight, and worse, he has to deal with icky bathroom stuff left by one of the musicians. When is he going to get lucky?
