Manny Pacquiao could be in serious danger after failing to declare a shoulder injury during his fight with Floyd Mayweather.

The fighters were given a “Pre-fight Medical Questionnaire” according to Yahoo Sports wherein they were asked, “Have you had any injury to your shoulders, elbows or hands that needed evaluation or examination? If yes, explain.” However, Manny Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz did not truthfully answered instead he put an X on the box.

Now, this has been a hot topic after the fight held on Saturday at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. We all know that this was the most awaited fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather. It even took more than 5 years for the match to finally take place.

The boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, dubbed as the fight of the century, sent hotel prices in Las Vegas soaring as well as Airfares going to the city all jacked up. Seats for the match between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather were also sold at an outrageously hefty price. The tickets for the fight were sold from the cheapest, US$1,500 to a floor seat valued US$10,000.

Regardless of who won or lost the battle, no one could have ever complained if the fight result was great, said Yahoo Sports.

The report went on to say that Manny Pacquiao did not show a great fight. Pacman only threw a total of 429 punches during the match compared to a heavy 669 punches he fired during his fight with Chris Algieri last November. Everyone said that Pacquiao should throw volume of punches at Mayweather to keep the pressure.

This has resulted to people left in question about the injury incurred by Manny Pacquiao on his shoulder. We were left to ask that if it hurt so bad, could it cause a toll on his performance during the match? Furthermore, if this is the case, did the public have to know about it after shelling so much money for the fight?

We do understand that it was a tough call not making the injury publicized in the first place. This is like giving Mayweather a precise target, continued Yahoo Sports. However, not being able to notify the commission regarding the Manny Pacquiao injury was a colossal mistake.

Manny Pacquiao could be facing more than his defeat against Floyd Mayweather. There will be lawsuits filed against the boxer, especially from fans who have bought tickets despite the heavy prices. Fans could argue for not being able to get what they have paid for after Pacquiao appeared on the ring, but did not give out a quality performance due to an injured shoulder. Manny Pacquiao’s performance did not make use of his superior right hand that would always go well with his powerful left. Pacquiao did not have this on Saturday making him no match against Mayweather.

Aside from possible lawsuits to be filed by fans, Manny Pacquiao could also face questions from the commission for perjury. This was after not truthfully declaring the state of his shoulder which he later on alleged to be injured.

Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe was also angered after learning about the shoulder injury of Manny Pacquiao after the fight. Ellerbe said, “We have first-hand experience dealing with them and anytime something doesn’t go their way, this is what you get. The Nevada commission is the best in the sport and they are always very meticulous in anything and everything they do. They scrutinize the fighters’ health very carefully.”

Ellerbe also added Mayweather came to the fight with bruised hands and sore shoulders. He said that Floyd has had injuries and was not fully healthy as well when he comes in to fight. However, he added, it was all part of the wear and tear of boxing as a sport.
