Margot Robbie received the Breakthrough Star of 2014 at this year's Australians in Film Awards Ceremony. Robbie, 24, accepted the award at a gala dinner at Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Los Angeles, California on Sunday evening. The actress starred in “Wolf of Wall Street” with A-list actor Leonardo DiCaprio last year.

The actress had to accept her award barefoot when her Christian Louboutin heels snapped as she walked to the stage. Carrying her designer heels, she said, “Thank you for giving me far more credit than I deserve.” Robbie attended the ceremony wearing a white mesh dress by Dion Lee and with her hair gathered in braids.

The actress played Donna Freedman in the soap opera “Neighbors,” which aired from 2008 to 2011. She relocated to the United States and played Laura Cameron in “Pan-Am,” which got cancelled after just one season. Her breakthrough role came when she played Naomi LaPaglia in Martin Scorsese's “Wolf of Wall Street.”

In an interview with Telegraph, the actress talked about the film's success and her career plan. “I’ve peaked way too early!” she laughs. “Where do you go from there?”

She has also talked about the challenges of an acting career in Hollywood. “Even when I came off Wolf (Of Wall Street) and had three months of unemployment, I thought I’d never work again, which was crazy,” said Robbie as published on the Daily Telegraph.

Robbie is currently in talks to star in the much-anticipated “The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan,” along with comedienne Tina Fey.

The Australians in Film Awards Ceremony also paid tribute to Hollywood film producer Greg Coote, who worked on “Avatar.” Coote died earlier this year.

Other actors to receive awards that night were Anthony La Paglia and Brenton Thwaites, who starred in the young adult film adaptation “The Giver.” Television host Osher Gunsberg was master of ceremonies.
