Now here’s some delightful news from the melismata queen, Mariah Carey! Not content with cornering the holiday music market with her evergreen hit, “All I want for Christmas is you,” Mariah Carey is stepping in to star and direct a holiday movie called “A Christmas Melody” for the Hallmark channel which will be aired during Christmas time this year.
Mariah Carey is in Cincinnati and she has decided to step behind the camera to direct a musical for TV. The movie will be aired on Hallmark in yuletide and fans are already celebrating. Carey will play a music teacher who is teaching a student to write a song to be sung in the community’s Christmas Show.
The movie will feature some new songs by Carey and will also feature the voice talent and acting of Lacey Chabert of the “Mean Girls” fame. Carey was seen running around the set in some really hip ripped blue jeans and high heels. She had literally let her hair down and looked like she was having tons of fun on the set.
The most notable piece of jewelry on her was her butterfly ring. Her fans will obviously know that the butterfly is really Carey’s totem sign. She uses the butterfly motif extensively.
She even had an album out that was titled “Butterfly” way back in the nineties. Her ring was presumably of platinum and she showed it off for the camera. She wore it on the ring finger on her left hand. But don’t get any ideas; it probably wasn’t a gift from James Packer.
The movie, Mariah Carey is working on, has the working title of “A Christmas Melody.” It is probably liable to change in the coming months. The movie will premiere on the Hallmark Channel at 8 p.m on December 19 as part of Hallmark’s Christmas Series of movies.
