One of the many big breaks a performer could get is to get a chance to perform in a show for a very active city like Las Vegas. And now about to join an amazing batch of singers like Cher and Bette Midler who have previously signed residency deals for a Las Vegas show, Mariah Carey steps out further into the spotlight by signing her own deal.
On Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, Page Six reported on Carey still negotiating on the details for a deal of residency at Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace. She was preceded by Celine Dion who signed in for a three-year residency deal in 2011. She was reportedly planned on a contract extension until 2017, but then left the show in late July 2014 to care for her sick husband.
Details on Carey’s residency deal are still sketchy, but there is a possibility that things will be patched up soon and she will get to perform before this year’s holidays. Allegedly, Carey’s residency deal tops the two-year $30 million contract Britney Spears signed in with Planet Hollywood back in 2013.
Page Six have contacted Carey’s representatives for confirmation of the news and updates on the deal, but so far, they have not responded.
Prior to the news of her signing a Las Vegas residency deal, Latina reported that Carey also just recently bought a mobile home worth a whopping $1.8 million. And as you would expect from every major celebrity, her new place is not just your average mobile home.
