Dr. Priscilla Chan, wife of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was one of the prime attractions at the China State Dinner held last Friday Night at The White House. The lady elegantly showed her baby bump when she arrived with her ever charming and incredibly successful husband Mr. Zuckerberg.
Dr. Chan was dressed in a red lace attire that was hugging her baby bump. Keeping her Chinese roots and traditions alive, the lady preferred to wear red that indicates luck and happiness.
On July 31st, Zuckerberg proudly announced with a Facebook post that the duo is expecting their first child, a little girl to be specific, very soon.
The same post by the founder of Facebook revealed that this pregnancy has come by surmounting three miscarriages on the way. He considers this battle to be individual, though inspiring for the millions who can share their own hopeful stories to keep the faith alive. Zuckerberg expressed his excitement in being a father for the first time. He added the ultrasound assured the little girl is healthy in Cilla’s womb. (via Refinery 29)
The lavish state dinner where the Facebook couple was present was thrown by US President Barack Obama for Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Apart from Chan, dinner host, US First Lady Michelle Obama was looking as stunning as always. Her fashion sense is something that always speaks of her sagacity. She was seen in a black off-the-shoulder mermaid gown created by Chinese-American designer Vera Wang.
Michelle Obama always singles out attires keeping a sublime taste and deep thought behind it. Be it foreign tours or meetings with delegates or charitable functions, she seems perfect yet chic in each of her appearances. We wonder how the beloved First Lady manages to spice up her garments such exquisitely.
The silhouette she wore to welcome the guests to the dinner is reminiscent of that famous gown Julia Roberts wore in “Pretty Woman”, but made from crepe.
Xi’s wife, Peng Liyuan, also a fashion-savvy first lady, selected an embellished silk gown in rich aquamarine.
Business Insider reports that the dinner’s 200 guest-list that night was comprised of leading faces of dynamic global businesses. The tycoons from Apple, Microsoft, Disney, DreamWorks; diplomacy and corporate chieftains; famous names from Hollywood, and ballerina Misty Copeland were present for the Friday soiree.
Guest chef Anita Lo, a first-generation Chinese-American and her culinary team created a menu that highlighted “American cuisine with nuances of Chinese flavor”, according to the White House. The guests feasted on wild mushroom soup, poached Maine lobster, grilled Colorado lamb and poppy seed bread and butter pudding.
