Maroon 5 just released a new music video for “Sugar” featuring their fans lip-synching the entire song.
After crashing and performing in actual weddings in LA to shoot their music video for “Sugar,” Maroon 5 released their new song showing fan-submitted videos where the band’s admirers lip-synched to the lyrics.
And where was Maroon 5? They were nowhere to be found.
The video features charming vignettes of Maroon 5 fans in bed, in the shower, wearing fierce leather jackets ala Adam Levine, singing with pets, jamming in their cars, grimacing through the song with electric guitars and Superman hoodies, waving around tons of props, and generally trying to be cute (and sometimes a little scary) for their idols.
Initially, the American pop rock band collaborated with their management team and announced on Twitter, requesting their fans to record themselves singing “Sugar,” and submit their efforts via the JamCam app.

All the chosen clips were them compiled into a video showing guitar heroes, superheroes and even dogs.
“We loved all the videos that were submitted!” James Valentine, the band’s lead guitarist, said in an email to BuzzFeed News. “So much so that we put them all together for a fanmade music video that came out great. Thanks to all our fans.”
This isn’t the first time this happened, either. The band did a similar video involving participation of their fans in December 2012. Their Daylight Project Internet campaign had fans singing and dancing to their “Overexposed” album single, “Daylight.”
Maroon 5 is set to begin their North American tour in Dallas by Feb. 16, 2015, featuring acts by American singer-songwriter Rozzi Crane and Canadian reggae fusion band MAGIC!
