Married” Season 1 Episode 6 “Invisible Man” aired on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at 10:00 p.m. on FX. After having his vasectomy, Russ went for one final check-up with his doctor. Meanwhile, Lina worked on letting go of her daughters’ baby items. Another couple, Jess and Shep, were experiencing a rough patch in their marriage. Find out what happened in this episode in the recap below.

Russ (Nat Faxon) was at the pool with his daughters when a teenager changes her clothes right in front of him, remarking to her friends that no one’s there, so no one can see her getting naked.  At the doctor’s clinic, Russ was turned away by the receptionist because he couldn’t come up with the $550 payment first. This only aggravated Russ’ concern that he’s invisible to a lot of people. He called his wife about it, who promptly ordered him to march back to the clinic and fib at the woman on the desk. Lina (Judy Greer) gave him instructions on what to say.

Back at the clinic, Russ tried to negotiate with the receptionist again and attempted to threaten her if she doesn’t let him see his doctor. He used the lines Lina told him to say. Somehow, this didn’t work, and the receptionist wouldn’t budge. Luckily, his doctor walked in, and so he was able to have his check-up. The doctor said his surgery was healing well and that everything else was “boring down there.” Now what Russ needed to do next was to give a semen sample so that the doctor can clear him for good health.

Unfortunately, Russ was having a hard time doing this. The sample room was just directly behind the receptionist’s desk, and there were a bunch of other patients waiting outside. One of them was a noisy father who was with his child, and they were doing her homework at the clinic, of all places. This distracted Russ from getting “into the mood,” so to speak. On top of that, Russ didn’t like the porn they have at the sample room.

While this was happening, Lina was at a thrift store, dropping off old baby items her girls have grown out of. But she was having a hard time letting go of these and asked the staff if she will be able to meet the people who will eventually get her baby stuff.

“We don’t do that kind of thing here” was the reply she got from the employee. So Lina instead went browsing around the thrift store when she received a call from Russ.

He wanted her to help him get off so he can have his semen sample deposited, so Lina and Russ had phone sex. While he was getting really loud inside the sample room, screaming “I’m gonna put a baby inside you!” for all of the other patients to hear, Lina was sitting by one of the sofa seats on sale at the thrift store, reading a magazine, but moaning really loud in front of the other customers.  She did not care though.

Later, as Lina left the store, she saw that her daughter’s lovely pink bassinet was purchased by a pregnant woman with pierced nose, a Mohawk hair and cigarettes. She went up to her to tell her that the bassinet should serve her upcoming baby well, but the woman said that she was going to use it on her ferret as a coffin. The ferret was dying of cancer.

Meanwhile, Jess (Jenny Slate) and Shep (Paul Reiser) were having some problems in their marriage. Shep had this opportunity to go back to work again. He’s in the recording business and scored a client who wanted to record her music. But then she had to cancel everything because she just found out she was pregnant, and they were moving to Iowa with her growing family.

Jess motivated her husband to try and get the client back, short of convincing her to have an abortion. Jess pushed Shep hard because she saw how motivated and inspired Shep was to be back at work again. But Shep knew that convincing the client to stay was a long shot, so he gave it up.

Jess was disappointed at her husband. She later went to the bar by herself to cool down and assess what’s been happening in her marriage. When a younger guy tried to hit on her, she didn’t seem to turn him down. Will Jess act on this? What will happen to their marriage?
