“Married” Season 1 Episode 8 “The Old Date” will air on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at 10:00 p.m. on FX. It’s a date night for Russ and Lina, while their friends have a boys’ night out. See what you can expect from this show in the guide below, but first, here’s a short recap about what happened in the last episode.
In “Waffles & Pizza” Russ (Nathan Faxon) and Lina (Judy Greer) thought that they should move into a new place, preferably a good and spacious house where they can raise their three daughters well. They had a prospect. AJ’s (Brett Gelman) girlfriend, Cynthia, was thinking of divorcing her husband, which meant that her house would be up in the market. But they had no money to buy a house. Still, Lina was interested with the idea.
Russ and Lina wanted to make sure that Cynthia’s divorce would be moving along, so Russ and Lina visited her at her place, pretending to be looking out for their friend. But they’re really just interested about the house. Russ felt worthless because his wife had to resort to this tactic in order to have a good house, when he should be providing for his family with the best of what life can give.
In the end, Cynthia went back to her husband, leaving AJ devastated, while Lina decided that they are a family of renters and gave up on the house-hunt. Russ can breathe a sigh of relief. He doesn’t have to break his back working to give his family a big home.
On the flipside to this episode, Jess (Jenny Slate) had to deal with her boss, who asked if she could score cocaine from a dealer. Jess realized that her boss didn’t value her as an employee and as a person, so eventually, she had to ask him to stop asking her about this. But her being upfront bore good results. She was promoted because she spoke up.
