Marry Me” Season 1 Episode 8 “Stand By Me” will air on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at 9:00 p.m. on NBC. This will be the final episode of the show for this year, as it goes on a break this holiday. The episode’s focus will be on Gil and Kay. Before we get into the details, let’s go over what happened in last week’s episode.

In “Win Me” (air date: Dec. 2, 2014), Annie’s (Casey Wilson) cousin Scooby (guest star Nat Faxon) was visiting, and this unleashed a competition with one of her gay dads. As Annie and Kevin 2 (Dan Bucatinsky) were both planning their wedding and Scooby announced that he will only be able to go to one of the events due to work, the two brides-to-be got competitive with each other. Scooby’s presence was worth fighting for as he sets the tone for the marital union.

So when Annie offered to let Scooby sleep at their place, Kevin 2 offered to buy her cousin a suit for the wedding. When Annie offered that they were going to pay for Scooby’s airfare, Kevin 2 made Scooby his best man. Annie topped this off by offering to have Scooby marry him and Jake.

The bride war got a little out of hand that Jake (Ken Marino) stepped in and suggested they should just have a double wedding. This was only a ploy though, as he was sure none of the brides would want this. But the first one to reject the double wedding idea will have to settle for a wedding without Scooby. Unfortunately, it was Annie who gave out.

Realizing what they were reduced to, Kevin 2 finally gave way and let his daughter have Scooby at their wedding. The two apologized for how they behaved, and all was well between the brides-to-be again!

Meanwhile, Gil (John Gemberling), Dennah (Sarah Wright) and Kay (Tymberlee Hill) were supposed to spend the day playing basketball, but the girls were sidelined by getting hooked on old episodes of “Law & Order.” Gil found new playmates among a group of sixth graders. But after the girls got worried when they couldn’t find him at the basketball court (those TV episodes made them paranoid!), he realized that while the kids he played with were okay, he should still have adult friends.

Spoiler Alert: “Marry Me” Season 1 Episode 8 “Stand By Me” will air on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at 9:00 p.m. on NBC.

In this episode, the girls will help Gil become independent, as he has grown to always rely on Jake for many things after his divorce. Annie, Kay and Dennah will all guide Gil to take charge of his life, and Jake will be on board this idea too. But with all the changes happening, the balance that the kind of relationship Jake and Gil brings to the group suddenly disintegrates. It will start to affect everyone. Were they wrong to let Gil take care of himself?

Meanwhile, Kay will confess something to the group: she hasn’t gotten over an old flame. The group will then help her with this. But to what extent?

And that’s what you can expect from “Marry Me” Season 1 Episode 8 “Stand By Me,” which will air on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at 9:00 p.m. on NBC. The show is going on a hiatus for the holidays. But keep following Movie News Guide (MNG) for the updates and news as we will continue to bring this regularly.
