“Marry Me” Season 1 Episode 9 “Test Me” will air on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at 9:00 p.m. on NBC. The show returns after a month of hiatus, and the gang is set to attend a baby shower. Before we get into the details, here’s a quick recap of the previous episode.
In “Stand By Me” (air date: Dec. 9, 2014), the relationship between Jake (Ken Marino) and Gil (John Gemberling) has had the girls noticing how much the latter has been overly dependent towards his best friend. They told Jake about this, and at first, he was in denial. But then he realized, after much thought, that the girls were right, so he decided to talk to Gil about it.
Gil was not happy to hear his best friend thought of him as being a leecher with no backbone. The two fought and Gil decided he would go on with his life without Jake at his beck and call, which was actually the point.
But then Jake started feeling the void Gil left, and no one was filling this. The girls noticed this too. In fact, it has affected the whole dynamics of their friendship, as Jake kept hanging out with them more because he had no one else to hang out with. So they planned a way for Gil and Jake to be friends again so that thing will go back to the way they were.
However, Gil was beginning to love his new independence, totally abandoning his friendship with Jake. Except during that one instance in the last minutes of the episode where he was stuck on top of a tree. He called up Jake to help him get down, and the two settled their differences.
Spoiler Alert: “Marry Me” Season 1 Episode 9 “Test Me” will air on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at 9:00 p.m. on NBC.
In the upcoming episode, the gang will be attending a baby shower, and so they will set out to prepare for it. There’s one problem, though. They cannot remember the name of their host, and in order to not seem very obvious about it, they come up with ways to hide this fact. Some of it’s actually hilarious.
The baby shower, meanwhile, has made Annie (Casey Wilson) and Jake eager to start their own family. So they set up an appointment with a fertility doctor to get family planning underway. This appointment, however, makes Jake a bit nervous. Will the two go with it or just hold off having a baby a bit more?
