Casey Wilson, the lead star of the NBC comedy series “Marry Me,” is apparently pregnant with her first baby with husband, David Caspe, who is the show’s creator. The two met while working on a previous comedy series, “Happy Endings,” which aired on ABC. Read on to learn more about this news item.
According to an exclusive by Us Weekly, the comedienne is reportedly on the family way, as confirmed by the magazine’s sources. The news comes as the couple has been married barely seven months ago in a hush-hush wedding at Ojai, California.
The 34-year-old actress met her husband on the set of “Happy Endings” back in 2011. By September 2013, the two got engaged and eventually tied the knot last May 25, 2014.
The couple spoke about having kids just three months before the report of her pregnancy surfaced. In an exclusive with Glamour Magazine, Caspe even joked that his father was alright with Wilson being pregnant at the wedding.
“I'd love to have kids. My mom always worked, and I certainly don't want to look back and think, Well, I don't have kids, but I'm glad I did that sitcom,” said Wilson in the Glamour interview, to which Caspe supported by saying that he’s also ready to have children with his wife.
Representatives for the couple have not yet spoken about this news. Moreover, there are still no updates from NBC about its plans for the show with the lead star's pregnancy.
As of the moment, “Marry Me” has received additional orders from the network, totaling their episode count to eighteen. There is no word yet on additional episodes or a second season pick-up. But so far, the show has been doing better in its timeslot compared to NBC’s other freshmen romantic comedies.
“Marry Me” was actually created based on Wilson and Caspe’s relationship. The show is about a long-time couple who has to go through the fun and folly of getting married. Playing Wilson’s fiancé in the series is comedian Ken Marino as Jake.
Catch “Marry Me” every Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. on NBC. For more about this show, keep tabs on Movie News Guide (MNG) for the updates.
