Aside from the planet Earth, it seems that the most talked about planet in the Solar System, recently, is Mars, thanks to NASA’s recent Martian discoveries, and thanks to the Ridley Scott and Matt Damon starrer, “The Martian,” which, apparently, is being warmly received not only in the United States, but in foreign and at the international box offices as well. Read on to learn more about this story.
As of this moment, it seems that the biggest anticipated films to have recently come out are two films that are very different from each other- Warner Brothers’ “Pan” and 20th Century Fox’s “The Martian.”
“Pan,” a reimaging of the origin story of the boy who never grew up, and who continues to soar in the minds and hearts of every child and adult who grew up on stories of Neverland, as it seems, according to the reports on Deadline and Variety, has failed to impress not just the domestic market in the United States, but also the international market.
However, Ridley Scott’s “The Martian,” according to Deadline, has gained traction, and is coming out on top when it comes to the movies that are currently being shown, as according to Deadline, domestically, in the United States the film managed to earn around $58.1 million so far, and managed to earn around $119.1 million at the international box office, and in particular, the film was very much well received in Korea.
“The Martian,” which starred Matt Damon, is based on a novel, and tells the story of an astronaut named Mark Watney, who ends up getting stranded while on a mission to the red planet, where he fights for survival by using what he knew as a botanist.
In contrast to this, both the foreign and United States market didn’t well received “Pan” at all, despite the fact that it starred Amanda Seyfried and Hugh Jackman, and despite the fact that it is a re-telling of a beloved tale.
