Although a year away for its release, “Captain America 3” helmer Joe Russo reveals that its full title will be revealed shortly, and apparently, it’s been thought of for a very long time. Read on to know more about this scoop.
“If you’ve been talking to [Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige], the title has been in place probably for 10 years in his brain,” revealed “Captain America” helmer Joe Russo in The Hollywood Reporter scoop.
Russo goes on teasing how the third installment would end up.
“The big thing we knew we had to deal with in Cap 2 was the fall of Hydra. Similarly there is a very, very big idea at the center of Cap 3 –[It] alters the universe as a whole in some way,” teased Russo.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige earlier announced Marvel has planned film releases throughout 2028, with the story arc focusing on the mad Titan, Thanos, who appeared in both “Avengers” and “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
The first “Captain America” film, featured the Tessaract, which is one of the infinity gems — there are six of them, two were featured in “Thor: Dark World” and “Guardians of the Galaxy.” While the sequel took Cap’s shield apart, following this logic, it may seem that “Age of Ultron” will affect events in “Cap 3,” which in turn will also affect “Avengers 3.”
Moreover, there are rumors that Jeremey Renner’s character, Hawkeye, will have an essential role for the upcoming film.
“There are rumblings of Captain America 3. I don’t know what’s going to happen there. I’ve got to find the time, man,” said Renner in an interview with Collider.
“Captain America 3” is the third installment of the “Captain America” franchise, which stars Chris Evans as the star-spangled titular Captain America and is part of MCU’s phase three project along with “Ant-Man,” “Doctor Strange” and “Guardians of the Galaxy 2.” “Captain America 3” will hit the theaters on May 6, 2016.
