It will be a couple of months until MARVEL’s favorite S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents returns to the small screen for a third season full of action and adventure, but fans of MARVEL, and of the show can already start getting excited about it, as MARVEL’s official website has released a press release as to what the third season will be all about. Read on to learn more about the story.
During the second season, aside from dealing with internal factions and HYDRA enemies, the team also dealt with the subsequent emergence of the Inhuman faction that was led by Agent Skye’s (Chloe Bennet) mother, Jiaying (Dichen Lachman). It led to the revelation that Skye, now an Inhuman with the ability to cause vibrations, is, in reality, Daisy Johnson.
According to MARVEL comics, the character of Daisy Johnson, a protégé of Nick Fury, was a leader of a team of young powered people called “Secret Warriors,” which had their own book from 2008 to 2011.
Based on an earlier report on Movie News Guide (MNG), and based on the season finale of the second season, in which S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and Skye began talking about forming a secret team of powered people, it looked probable that the show was going to be heading in that particular direction. It has just been confirmed in a press release on the official website of MARVEL.
According to the release, the third season of the show will be based on the “Secret Warriors” series. This means that the team, and Coulson, will be going around the world to search for powered people in order to create such a team. In the process, they will meet characters and enemies which hail from the “Secret Warriors” series.
Also, the team will be encountering another threat, because, as it turns out, they aren’t the only ones who are searching for powered people.
