“MARVEL’s Agents of SHIELD” Season 2 Episode 14 “Love in the Time of Hydra” aired  on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 9:00 PM. In this episode, Agent 33 (Maya Stojan) and Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) went on a personal mission, while S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) placed Agent Skye (Chloe Bennet) in hiding. Meanwhile, the members of the “real S.H.I.E.L.D.” were introduced, and the plan against Coulson was revealed.  Read on to learn more about this episode.

The episode began with Agent 33 (Maya Stojan) and former S.H.I.E.L.D Agent and former Hydra Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) at a diner, where they kidnapped a technician in order to fix her nano mask. He then told her that she couldn’t remove the mask from her face, but could store three faces at a time, and could be anyone she wanted to be. She then thanked Ward for everything, and told him that she couldn’t give him back anything in return. However, he told her that it didn’t matter, and went out to take care of another errand.

Meanwhile, on the Bus, Agent Skye (Chloe Bennet) went back the Cage, or the Brig, after she caused the room to shake after Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) and Leo Fitz (Iain de Castecker) began to argue about the ethics of having powers. Fitz was for having them, but Simmons treated Skye’s new powers as if it were the plague.

At S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Phil Coulson’s (Clark Gregg) office, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) informed Coulson that she agreed with her ex-husband, Dr. Andrew Garner (Blair Underwood) that Skye be removed from active duty.

Meanwhile, at the “real S.H.I.E.L.D.”, Alphonso “Mack” Mackenzie (Henry Simmons) introduced Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) to Agent Edward James Olmos (Robert Gonzales) and three other top officials in S.H.I.E.L.D. who revealed that they didn’t trust Coulson as they believed that he was heading for destruction because of what Nick Fury did to him. Bobbi Morse (Adrianne Palicki) then revealed that she agreed with them.

Meanwhile, Coulson took Skye to an undisclosed location, a safe house with a laser fence around it- the same house that Steve Rogers stayed in after he thawed out. There, Coulson told Skye that this was perfect time for her to relax and figure out how to use her powers, and gave her a pair of gloves that Simmons had been working on, which would “lessen the magnitude” of her powers.

Meanwhile, Agent 33 tried to seduce Ward using Skye’s face in order to give something back to him, but he told her that Skye didn’t like him and encouraged her to face herself and her own fears.

Afterwards they broke into the Air Force Base where Sunil Bakshi (Simon Kassianides) was held captive. Afterwards, she embraced who she truly was- Kara, a woman with a half burnt face, and proceeded to brainwash Bakshi, the way that he did to her.

Meanwhile, Mack went back in and told May that Hunter was still in a depressed state.

However, on the other S.H.I.E.L.D. base, which was on a ship, Bobbi went to Hunter who had been locked inside a room, and reassured him that all the feelings that she felt for him were real. However, he told her that he was leaving, and was shocked to learn that they were literally on a ship. He then took one of the submarine pods and they were informed that it would take him around twelve hours to reach the shore.

Back at the base, Coulson reassured Fitz that Skye was safe. Fitz then confronted Simmons about what she had given Coulson for Skye and told her that this new attitude came about as she had been scared of the changes that happened to him. He then told her that the scariest change that had actually taken place was her change in attitude.

In Coulson’s office, General Talbot (Adrian Pasdar) informed Coulson that Agent 33 and Ward had infiltrated his base to break out Bakshi. May then told Coulson that she didn’t believe Mack, and the two resolved to figure out what he was up to. He also told May that something didn’t feel right about leaving Skye in the safe house.

Back at the base of the other S.H.I.E.L.D., Bobbi asked for six hours in order to get rid of Coulson, who still was a threat as he had too many secrets.
