“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 1 Episode 19 “The Only Light in the Darkness” aired on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 on ABC. Marcus Daniels is now free from the Fridge. Read on to find out more about MNG’s “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” recap.

Previously on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” (“The Only Light in the Darkness” Season 1 Episode 19), Ward (Brett Dalton) went to where the team was taking refuge. He informed them that Garrett was already dead. Of course, this was a lie. Coulson (Clark Gregg) learned that the previous prisoner of the Fridge was Marcus Daniels (Patrick Brennan). He was a threat. So, before sending his team on a mission, Coulson briefed them on what they were about to face. Coulson has worked with Daniels in a lab, trying to harness an unstable extra-terrestrial radiation known as Dark Force. Daniels was exposed to it, and suddenly he developed the ability to absorb all kinds of energy. What’s worse was he can kill anybody with just one touch. Coulson knew that Daniels would be looking for his obsession, Audrey (Amy Acker). Audrey was a cellist. Then, he assigned Triplett (B.J. Britt), Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) and Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) to look for her. However, Koenig (Patton Oswalt) would not let them go just like that. Since you could not trust anybody now, Koenig had to protect his secret lair. What did he do? He subjected each of them to a lie detector test.

During the test, it was revealed that Ward had another intention on why he came to the base. Ward admitted it. He came back for Skye (Chloe Bennet).

Audrey narrated to Fitz, Triplett and Simmons how she was saved by an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. named Phil Coulson. She thought that her hero was already dead, although Coulson would like to keep it that way. He did not want to use Audrey as bait to lure Daniels.

The team managed to devise a weapon that could immobilize Daniels. Now that Audrey was safe, Coulson would still not show himself. Maybe things would not turn well for Audrey if he did. But he promised that he would tell her the truth someday. Perhaps Fitz too about his feelings for Simmons?

Skye wanted to gain access to the NSA satellites to get a footage of the Fridge break in. Ward was worried about this idea. He told Skye that the footage was sent to other agencies. And before he could take May with him, she was already gone. May (Ming-Na Wen) met with her mom and gave her the name of the person that she should call: Maria.

There was a touching moment for Skye and Ward in this episode. Without bluntly telling Skye that he was a Hydra, Ward went on by saying that he was a bad guy. Skype did not believe him and kissed him instead. After the kiss, Koenig was found dead. She knew that Ward was Hydra. Then, they left on a bus together.
