The episode began with a  teenager  with no eyes, who , despite being prepared for the Terragenesis, could not control his teleporting within the room until Jiaying (Dichen Lachman), Agent Skye’s (Chloe Bennet) mother, came in and comforted him. His name was Gordon.

Meanwhile, at the  SHIELD Headquarters, Skye  woke up in the quarantine area. There, SHIELD Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) told her that everyone was dealing with the loss of Agent Antoine “Trip” Triplett (B.J. Britt) in their own way. Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) continued to train; Alphonso “Mac” Mackenzie (Henry Simmons) and Leo Fitz (Iain de Caestecker) worked at the garage; Agent Bobbi Morse (Adrienne Palicki) looked at pictures while her ex-husband, Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) watched on and  Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) was overseeing the flooding of the  alien city. Skye then started to blame herself for everything that happened, but Coulson reassured her that they had managed to stop HYDRA and that he was determined to make them pay.

Meanwhile, the leaders of HYDRA decided that the one who could eliminate  SHIELD would  get Daniel Whitehall’s position.

Meanwhile, Bobbi paid Skye a visit and gave her a “quarantine survival kit”. Elsewhere in the building, Fitz began to fix Skye’s watch monitor, which had been damaged in the quake, and Mac vented out his frustrations about being controlled by an alien life form. After apologizing to  Fitz who understood how he felt, he decided to get the blueprints of the base to make sure that the quarantine area was secure.

Meanwhile, in Puerto Rico, before Simmons and her team could flood the alien city, several of their team were murdered by Raina (Ruth Negga) who had  transformed into a creature with thorns. Afterwards, Simmons informed Coulson that she was going back to the base to study the left behind tissue and blood.

Coulson then told them that they would be using Sunil Bakshi (Simon Kassianades) to make a move against HYDRA.However, as everyone was on edge, they all began to argue with each other, which distressed Skye, who managed to stop her room from shaking.

May and Coulson then took Bakshi in a car to Brigadier General Talbot (Adrian Pasdar) in exchange for help to eliminate Hydra. However, they were intercepted by several men who gunned them down, which allowed Bakshi to escape in a car driven by Hunter, with Bobbi tailing them on a motorcycle. After Bakshi contacted Mr. Bloom who told him to go to the HYDRA headquarters, Hunter tried to kill Bakshi, as there were many who wanted him dead. However, he stopped after Bakshi told him that he would triple his pay.

Back at the base, Fitz became frustrated with the watch because its data did not make any sense. Meanwhile, Simmons scared Skye by telling her that she felt that she wanted to be able to destroy these powers from spreading like a plague, and told her that she was going to get samples from her, just in case. Later, she told Coulson that it might be best to kill Raina..

Meanwhile, at a container yard, Raina approached Calvin Zabo (Kyle Maclachlan) who decided to gather those on the Gifted Index so that Skye would go to him, and told Raina, who became resentful of him and Skye, that she was on her own.

Meanwhile, Bakshi met Bloom, and told him that that the other HYDRA leaders wanted to kill him. They then ordered that all the others be killed, and sent a team to kill Hunter and Bobbi. While waiting, Bobbi admitted to Hunter that she and Mac went to a SHIELD support group. Afterwards, they fought of the HYDRA agents, killed Bloom, and surrendered Bakshi to Talbot.

Back at the base, Fitz informed Skye that he had realized that she was inhuman, and that she had caused the earthquake in the temple.  This then caused her to create a mini earthquake inside. Afterwards, May became concerned after she saw that Skye had cut her hands trying to clean up the mess, and told her that Coulson had been affected by Trip’s death as he had reminded him about what SHIELD stood for. Simmons then came to get her samples, but Fitz told them that Skye’s results had come out normal. Later, in private, he told her that they should keep her secret between them, and comforted her as she hugged and cried on his shoulder.

Meanwhile, Raina tried to kill herself by walking onto the open road, but was stopped by SHIELD agents. However, she was protected by Gordon, who saved her.

Back at the base, the group paid tribute to Trip, and Mac informed Bobbi that he had the blueprints, and had discovered that Nick Fury’s toolbox was inside Coulson’s office. Bobbi then told him that she would contact someone soon.
