MARVEL’s Agents of SHIELD” Season 2 Episode 12 “Who You Really Are” aired  on Tuesday, Mar. 10, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. In this episode, the team helped Lady Sif (Jamie Alexander) recover her memories and figured out why she was on Earth. However, in the process, Agent Skye’s (Chloe Bennet) secret gets revealed, further dividing the team, and Hunter (Nick Blood) figures out that Agent Bobbi Morse (Adrienne Palicki) is hiding something from him.  Read on to learn more about this episode.

In Faro, Portugal, a group of people by a campfire met a confused Lady Sif (Jamie Alexander), who didn’t know who she was.

Meanwhile, at the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) encouraged Agent Skye (Chloe Bennet) not to hold back, and to control her emotions, but she was having a hard time. It was especially after she discovered what she could do. Leo Fitz (Iain de Castecker) then suggested taking a break, but Skye told him that she was fine.

Meanwhile, Hunter (Nick Blood) told Agent Bobbi Morse (Adrienne Palicki) that he was considering S.H.I.E.L.D Director Phil Coulson’s (Clark Gregg) offer of becoming an agent. Coulson told Alphonso “Mack” McKenzie (Henry Simmons) that he was going to start working in the field.

The team then headed to  Portugal after learning that Lady Sif was being held and was looking for someone named “Carver.” However, as she didn’t remember anything, even her relationship with Thor, they decided to help her out. Skye found a video of Sif fighting off a man who was strong enough to injure her and to throw her off a boardwalk café. Before they left to search the area, Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) informed them that she was making more lethal icers.

Fitz then found a fragment of the man’s chest. It was revealed to have frozen liquid nitrogen, which fit with the fact that he had stolen helium from an elderly balloon seller. Afterwards, at a local hospital, Bobbi and Skye encountered him and saw that he needed the nitrogen to turn his skin back to a flesh color as he was blue. He then escaped after Skye panicked, and the ground started to shake.

Later, at the headquarters, Skye told Fitz that she wanted to tell Coulson about it. He told her to wait until after he ran one more diagnostic on it. Because they know knew that the man was Kree, Sif realized that “Carver” was Kree for keys. Coulson realized that he was headed for a place in Portugal called Chavez, which was where Daniel Whitehall had gotten his Diviners in the ‘40s.  There, they managed to capture him and brought him to the Bus’ brig, along with the crate of Diviners that he had gotten from a tunnel.

Inside, Bobbi, who was told by Mack that she shouldn’t involve Hunter with their plan. He told her to drive him away so that he wouldn’t be near headquarters when “they pull the trigger on it,” became cold towards him while examining the man’s truncheon.

Later, the man, Vin-Tak (Eddie McClintock), restored Sif’s memory with the truncheon and remembered that she had been sent  to get him. He was there because he wanted to destroy the Diviners and those affected by Terragenesis. Humans with DNA modified to be activated by the process were created a long time ago in order to become warriors for the Kree Empire. This shocked Skye and she became more agitated after learning that the crate’s Diviners were gone. The ground then began to shake, and she shattered a glass window, revealing that she had been transformed by the terragenesis as well. Coulson and May protected her, and so did Fitz. Ge apologized to Simmons who almost found him out after finding his diagnostic on Skye’s blood on a tablet. Fitz then managed to blast Vintak, which allowed Bobbi to use the truncheon on him. Instead of heeding May’s advice to control her emotions as Sif was upon them in the brig, she shot herself.

Afterwards, before Sif left with Vintak, she told Coulson that she felt that he was making a mistake in letting Skye stay behind with them, and May seconded her opinion, as Skye was more than they could handle at the moment. Meanwhile, as the team cleaned up the damaged laboratory, Fitz apologized to Simmons for lying to her. He told everyone that they would have treated Skye differently, just like they all treated him differently after his accident. However, Skye, who was leaving for the bus’s brig, overheard Mack saying that they needed to be protected from her. Fitz tried to go after her, but she didn’t allow him to say anything else to her.

Afterwards, Hunter confronted Mack as he knew that Bobbi was lying to him about the support group, but before he could say anything more, Mack rendered him unconscious with a choke hold.
