One of Marvel Studio’s most charismatic actor Anthony Mackie is teasing out probable plot details that fans can begin to speculate and theorize on for the upcoming “Captain America: Civil War.” Read on to know more about the details of this scoop.
Anthony Mackie has always been one of Marvel Studio’s actors who knew how to play around with his answers when being questioned about the update on his latest film involvement. To date, he is set to reprise his role for the “Captain America” franchise, and the third movie is well underway. With Chris Evans’ contract implying that this will be his last involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the question of who will be taking over as the new Captain America has started to circumnavigate the web. The Russo brothers did well in reintroducing a reformed Bucky (Sebastian Stan) and establishing Falcon (Anthony Mackie) in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” both of which are candidates of taking up the shield in the comic book’s storyline. Now, Anthony Mackie is being asked the same question, and his answers are as vague and as theorizing as ever.
The actor has been busy promoting his latest film “Black or White,” and it’s customary that people would ask about the update in the third installment of the “Captain America” franchise that is just filled with questions. Among those questions were the chances of Falcon inheriting the shield and mantle of Captain America.
“Well, you know there are many incarnations in the comic book, and we are now going into the Civil War. So, if you look at it in the comic book, Cap gives Bucky the shield, Bucky gives it back to Cap, Cap gives it to [Sam Wilson]. Then Bucky goes off and marries Black Widow, so I keep the shield… give it back to Cap, and recently Cap wanted to be old, so he gave me the shield back and now I got the Shield; I’m not giving it back,” Mackie stated, as published on Comic Book Movie.
According to Cinema Blend’s take on the actor’s response, he merely stated what went down in the comics. Therefore, he didn’t really give a concrete answer to the question, leaving it unanswered. Instead, the “Black or White” star simply implied that there is so much for the collective superhero narrative to cover if they wish to honor the storyline in the comic book. Moreover, there’s also the involvement of Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man to think about as well, and even the turnout of those events in a three-hour movie will appear too jam packed. Well, that’s for the helmsmen Russo brothers to figure out and divulge later on.
That concludes our update on Anthony Mackie’s teases in the upcoming “Captain America: Civil War.” Continue visiting Movie News Guide (MNG) for more movie updates.
