MasterChef US Season 6 Scoop: Who Replaces Joe Bastianich?

Despite fans’ disappointment about Joe Bastianich’s farewell from the “MasterChef US” franchise, another chef is ready to take the hearts of “MasterChef” viewers. With her sweet smile and pastries, it can be easy for the popular pastry chef Christina Tosi. Read on to know more about her.

Tosi admitted being a fan of “MasterChef” ever since its first season. That was why she gladly took the offer to be part of the judging panel.

“I’m incredibly humbled by the opportunity and excited to pay forward all that I owe to learning what you’re made of in the home kitchen, and putting your neck on the line to show what you’ve got to the rest of the world!” Tosi exclaimed.

The outspoken and iconic chef Gordon Ramsay commended Tosi as “one of the most exciting, dynamic and inspirational people in food”  for this generation. He is aware of Tosi’s creativity and productiveness that contributed to the growing culinary industry. He claimed he would respect her opinions and believed that she would be an effective mentor and judge.

According  to FOX, Tosi is the founder and owner of Milk Bar in New York City. Milk Bar is a dessert restaurant from the Momofuku group which already has seven branches in New York and Toronto and a new one in Washington, DC. Tosi created innovative products such as crack pie, compost cookies and cereal milk ice cream.  She helped Momofuku Ko receive two Michelin stars and be acknowledged as one of the Top 100 Restaurants in the World, according to Restaurant magazine. She received the James Beard Rising Star Chef Award in 2012 and became a front-runner for the James Beard Outstanding Pastry Chef Award in 2014. She currently teaches cooking classes and creates her own baking mix products and “fashionably wholesome” Karlie’s Kookies with Karlie Kloss.

The award-winning pastry chef now comprises the three judges in all “MasterChef US” franchises. It also included “MasterChef Junior.” Two other judges are renowned chefs Graham Elliot and Ramsay.

The “MasterChef” series was nominated for a Teen Choice Award, two Critics’ Choice Television Awards and two People’s Choice Awards. It won an Emmy Award last 2013 for Outstanding Art Direction for a Multi-Camera Series.

FOX‘s official website stated that “MasterChef US” Season 6 is already set to air on Wednesday, May 20, 2015.
