Matt Bomer wants to take you on a “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie date. What do you say?
According to MTV, the actor might not have landed the lead role of Christian Grey on the E. L. James adaptation, but he went home with a Golden Globe Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series, Movie or Miniseries award for his portrayal of Felix Turner in HBO’s “The Normal Heart.” Bomer is also part of the “Magic Mike 3” scheduled for release this 2015.
Bomer had a hard time choosing between a more suitable date night movie between “Fifty Shades of Grey” and “Magic Mike 3.”
“I think they’ll both be great date movies. I think they’ll very different kinds of date movies. There’s something in those two movies for any couple,” Bomer explained in the MTV article.
As previously reported by Variety, not everyone was delighted when Jamie Dornan bagged the lead role for the “Fifty Shades of Grey” franchise. More than 80,000 fans had signed a petition asking for Bomer to play Christian.
The “White Collar” actor says he was “incredibly flattered” that many considered him perfect for the role. He added that it came as a surprise as he personally never read any of the books.
“I don’t know what it was that tipped people off that way or made them think of me, but it was really strange and interesting. I’m sure it’s great though. I bet the movie is going to be amazing,” he told E! News. Bomer says he’s also looking forward to see the movie when it hits theaters next month.
